I think I handle my money quite well. I have a part time job, and i work online. The money I make online pays for small bills, like my store credit cards, or gas. And the money I make from working my part time job pays for my car payment which isnt a lot at all. So I don't have to many responsibilities because im a college student living at home. But that's pretty much how i handle my money.

Most months, yes. I need to make some cuts though, so that there is room for things such as tires, eyeglasses, etc.

I need to be thrifty becauseI´m a widow and retired. I have some savings from other moments and those are not touched except for illness. The rest I have learnt to make gourmet food with little money, I will be growing my own vewggies next year, I don´t use dryers , central heating nor aircontitioning. I have one luxury: I love to travel. So I save all my online earnings for vacations. Besides that, I have a piggybank to save coins. All that is for vacations too. I guess that´s about all.

I do share them by taking pictures and placing them here. I always change my avatar so that it has something to do with my last vacations. This year I did not travel far because I had shoulder surgery. I went to the south of Chile, my country. Our national flower, the copihue, grows in the forests in the south. The picure in my avatar is a copihue. Before that I has a picture of myself aboard a sailboat at the Caribbean. I was invited by friend for a 3 week trip if I bought my airfare. It was no cruise: we were all part of the crew. But we had fun and saw awesome places.

I think i might be too thrifty. I hate to buy things i don't need. Such a waste. I would rather work on a very tight budget. Better to save for emergencies than spending and be stuck. TATA.

I try to be very frugal. But right now, the main reason that we are able to pay down debt at the rate that we are is that we started making a lot more money and didn't really increase our living expenses (we did have to move, but other than the increase in rent, everything else is the same).

Happy mylotting!

Well I have always saved money and out it back just in case I needed it. I make sure my bills are up to date and taken care of. Have I ever been in ruts before paying bills? Yes I have. But I had to learn to dig my way back to the top. I would take so much money a week and put it back so I could have it for later when I needed it without hurting the budget.

Hello Prime, Yes it has been a long time. But I am always around. I am good so far. I have to go to the doctors for allergy testing Monday. 40 shots is not going to be fun to deal with. My daughters pageant is going well so far. We have to travel to another area where her pageant is held at. We have to stay in a hotel for a couple days while she competes. I made new soap its called Tea tree oil soap. Good for poison ivy, Psoriasis and Eczema. Hugs

i am thrifty in a sense that i am not spend money and buy things which is not necessary at all..for me i plan first who is really important to or the things that i needed most..sometimes i saw my friends they use jewelry..it is really interesting to buy too but whenever i think the money i have it is not enough to buy another things..it is enough to our daily needs..maybe i can but those accessories if i have such enough money to savings i have..for me..i can not say that i am thrifty but i can say that i am only a wise spender..

I am generally very thrifty, I can spend money on alot of things, but my main expenditure is on clothes as a guy I love looking good in a pair of new sneakers or jeans. I collect hats jeans music and dvd's. I always have extra money as Idon't have any expenses well they are almost non existent. I believe in making cash purchases most of the time, better than being in debt.

i don't work yet. i'm a second year college student and i've never had work experience before. i'm so excited for that time to come :D hahhaha. about being thrifty, i usually spend half of my daily allowance on food, a small percentage of it for transportation and the other half on my savings. then if i have saved enough, i usually buy stuff especially nail polish :D i'm so addicted to it :))

I am not naturally thrifty but I am disciplining myself. If I have money, I try not to go to malls so I won't be tempted to buy. My father takes care of most of the bills, and our daily consumption so I don't have that to worry much about. I do extend some help if I have money left but right now I am always broke because I have been paying some debts (personal ones), and I am schooling.

I am happy to know that you are trying to discipline yourself in terms of money matter friend.... when I was a student like you before I also do not care about the expenses at home but you know what, I just realize how to allocate the right amount for the right thing that now I am managing my own life.... and as early as now, we have to think of our future thus we have to find ways to save a little amount of money it can help us a lot in the coming days.... God luck and God bless.

Hello prime, At this time of hardship, crisis, unemployment and etc,it is really hard to budget and save money from a very little/small salary. It all depends on your work, salary and how many are there in the family. I only had 3 kids, one in college, one in highschool and elementary. Good thing is,we are not renting a house. With the high electric bills and so many bills to pay on,truly i admit, sometimes my allocated allowance for a month is not enough. Lucky if i can save a hundred or got spare hundreds for the next month. But,i am trying to save at least for emergency cases. I can say i am thrifty, thu how much i tried so hard to cut some costings, still the high price of commodities are not enough to save me for meeting ends with our monthly allowances.
• Philippines
23 Jul 10
correct, this is true. we have a little salary over big amounts of expenses... commodities are so expensive, bills are high it is really hard to save a little amount after the end of each month and you are so lucky jai that you are not paying house rental because it would take a big allocation of your income you know I am really planning to apply some PAG-IBIG house someday though I would still allocate money for it at least I know it would be my house.... and look jai, you are really a model to all mothers, you are able to send those children of yours in school despite of the situation. Good luck friend and God bless you and your children....

I am quite thrifty with my money. I have had to be in the past. Money wasn't something that was in high quantity in my house. I saved wherever i could because i had to. I don't have to be as thrifty as I used to be, but it's a habit i don't want to break.
• Philippines
23 Jul 10
very nice of you sender.... I know that you would be successful in the near future.... for me being thrifty is such a nice attitude and habit.... because the money we save would help is a lot in the comings days specially in times of crisis..... God bless and more power....

I am very thrifty. Or, should I say, I am very frugal. I am an entrepreneur, and all of my income, either from online or offline sources, are allocated for things that will generate me more money, like expansion or a new business opportunity. I want to become a serial entrepreneur, the one who owns multiple businesses, even businesses that are outside my field of expertise which is pharmacy business. I want to venture in new kinds of businesses, like food processing for export. I only set aside a small amount to buy my needs (and not my wants). That's how hard core I am when it comes to treating my earned income.

Thank you so much for sharing this friend.... You know, you are just doing the best things for life I know now that it the most important thing is not that our wants is to be achieve over time, it is to become fruitful over time.... I know that you would become more successful in the coming days... God bless you. I am too trying myself to become thrifty nowadays.... at this point of time that we are in the midst of crisis, we just need to allocate our money properly for the right things... thank you for this nice sharing....

I'm not really thrifty. I find it hard to save money that I have. As long as I have money, I keep on spending them. My mom said that I have to motivate myself by thinking of something that I want to buy then save money for that. I would start saving for some time, but I would get tired then spend it on a date or something.
• Philippines
22 Jul 10
hehehehehe that is my attitude too my friend that is why I am really working on to become thrifty one day because i know there is really a big advantage for this kind of person specially that I am already grown now and I have to manage my own life.... God bless and thanks for the sharing
