What breed of dog/s do you find "scary"?

I used to be afraid of dogs like pit bulls and rottweilers because of the stories I heard and read about how they have a tendency to 'attack' people. But when I actually got a pit bull, my opinion totally changed. My pit bull was really 'sweet' and fiercely loyal. And really cute, too. The only thing about her that got me scared was the fact that she ate a lot (and I was afraid my pockets will be empty because dog food is expensive!).
I want to hear your opinion about dogs that you find scary.

Was chased by a Great Dane the size of a horse when I was a kid and everytime I see one I still get a little terrified. I think the fact that because I am short and when they jump up they are taller then me is a little unsettling.

Hi Anjo12,
I am terrified of Dovermans, Pitbulls, and Rottewilers. I was once chased down by a Doverman and almost bit. The pitbulls I'm just scared of cause the stories I've heard that if they bite you they won't let go. The Rottewilers just scare me cause they are big and scary.

I knew someone who was bitten by a pit bull. Just like what you've heard, the dog didn't let go of the man's leg. They had to use a metal tube to stick to the dog's mouth so that it'll be forced to open. Then I found out that the pit bull was being used as a fighting dog and on the day the man got bitten, they were on their way to a dog fight (the kind where people bet on dogs).
I had a pit bull before and she was the sweetest big dog I know. I treated her exactly like how she treated me. Since she was some sort of my protector, I also gave her what she deserved. I guess it also depends on how you treat them.

I don't find many dogs scary.I love pitbulls, they're lovable. When they attack it's because they weren't socialized and don't get enough attention from the owner. If someone is hardly home, they shouldn't get any dog, really. They don't like to be left alone for hours on end.I wouldn't be afraid of a rottweiler if I owned it,but someone elses, yes, because I don't know the dog.I feel alot more comfortable if I know the dog.Any guarding breed is scary to me if I don't know the dog.I own a black German Shepherd, that don't like strangers, and what annoys me is people think it's a friendly Lab,when she will bite when approached. They think she's a Lab just because she's black. She does not welcome strangers.I tell people they can't pet her,but they come up close to us anyways,so if she bites someone it's their fault then,I warn them.

I find St Bernard scary. It is more so because of the size than anything else. Other dog that I am afraid of are Mastiff, Neapolitan Mastiff, Rottweiler, Bull Terrier.

I have been a dog owner my whole life. I currently have wolf hybrids. I also have small dogs. At my house the small ones will bite you quicker than the big ones. I have also been in a job that required that I go into peoples home for short periods. It was the little ones that wanted to take a bite not the bigger breeds that you hear all the stories about. The worse breeds were the terriers. Or should I say the little 'terrors'.
