I am just curious about that. For me,I always read others' opinions as well when I write down my answers. Replies from other mylotters sometimes really give some extra and unexpected inspiration.Do you guys do the same like me? I am looking forward to sharing your expenience with me.

I do sometimes read what other's post but it is usually after I make my post. I like to see how my opinion is the same or different from everyone else's so I don't read beforehand so my answer is not influenced by the other answers. But I do agree with you where if you do read it can give you unexpected inspiration because you can look at the different viewpoints and it gets you thinking more about the subject.

I agree with you. This is what I do too. I comment first then read if it's about answering a question, but if the post is about opinions i sometimes read first then comment. sometimes I comment first before reading. depends on how excited I am to answer the question. haha

When I find a discussion that sounds interesting to me, first I read all the comments given by others. That's because I think it is not a pleasant thing for the person who started the discussion, to read the same answer again and again.
I read all the answers, and if I have nothing new to say, I shall not add a comment.
But there are a lot of discussions between my interests that I don't even read. I read only the title and the first two lines from the post, and if I don't like it, I go on to the next one.

Yeah, showing our respect to starters is vital and necessary.Sincerely thank you for your opinion here.It is really my pleasure since you have shown me your respectful attitude from your argument.

Hahaha! You see, discussions like this could not get any answer that 'yes', or 'no', or 'sometimes'. But I think explaining why you do this way or the other way can make the difference.
Above I was talking about the discussions in wich the starter asks for help or something.
All the best!

I do, I do. It's a problem I'm trying to curb because I tend to be too much on the "reading discussions on mylot" spectrum that I often spend too many hours just reading discussions and not participating or posting my thoughts at all... which is bad when participation is a big deal.
This might be because I am, by nature, a lurker so I tend to be anonymous and not making myself be known, but yes. I do read other people's posts and thoughts on discussions I want to respond to. Now, I'm trying to respond FIRST and reading the discussions afterwards so that I won't spend hours and not post at least once, haha. It's one of the drawbacks of such a big discussion-based site - it can literally suck in hours of your time. xD

Mostly I don't, I go straight to responding. I don't have time to read all of the response. But sometimes if I like to see others opinion, I read it to give me an idea. Happy Mylotting!

Yes, I read especially when the topic of discussion is something that I also do not know. For example, people who give tip and tricks in their replies is worthy to read on.

Hi smallsaozhou, it mostly depends on situation then. If I don't have sufficient time spending here I usually would read the content under topic which I could handle. If I really have lots to share with the discussion creator I then would type my post straight away.
If having considerable time I usually would read responses as well as comments before or after I have typed my posts. I would like to leave my comment in the response box if I have something to share with the responder. It's fun as well to have continuous comment on the topic which interest us
Happy posting

I normally read at least the first 2-3 pages of a thread before I post on it myself (maybe more depending on how interesting the question or responses are).
I think it's good to, since if there are a lot of people offering the exact same opinion, I don't think it contributes much if I am simply repeating what has already been said many times, other than I guess to point out how popular that particular view is (exception being debates).

Yeah, I read other's opinions when I participate in a discussion here. Especially if it's a discussion I started. It's good to read, and even comment on other people's discussions, to keep the conversation going. But I don't read everyone's comments. I just sort of skim through them, and look for one's that catch my attention.

When the discussion is started by me,I always give comments below their answers.I want them to see my reaction and appreciation.

I think most of us do that. You wont be able to give a very good reply if you dont read what they are saying, right? That's the main reason why I like expressing my feelings here in mylot cause there are plenty of people who feel me and they inspire me.

hello small! yes,i am like you,i do read other's responses before i jup into my own response.it's a good way to help us know what others think and for us not to repeat what they already said.but there are moments i have not much time to read, that's why i jump immediately to give my response.but then,if the topic really interests me,i would definitely do read other's post and if ever i had something to say to others i would definitely comment back on their post, not just by responding.this way,we can learn to interact with others and know their own thoughts and perceptions about the topics being discussed.or it maybe we just drop by and joke around to make others laugh for a while, but then stick to the topic, and enjoy the fun!

Yes i do sometimes read other's opinion. That's what discussions are all about. Making new topics, sharing new knowledge and helping each other out. That's what mylot teaches us. Some answers are really witty and funny too!

I rarely read all other's opinions in discussion.
It depends on whether I am interested in what mylotter said.
Sometimes if opinions is too long,I will have no patience to read it. HAHA
And I glad to see the opinion is simliar to mine.

It depends. If there are too many posts in a subject and I don't have much time, I'll choose some opinions to read, especially those contains no more than ten lines. If I have enough time and there are not many posts, for instance, ten replies, I'll read every posts. When I start a discussion, absolutely I'll read every posts of it.

I do. Like you, I read people's comment because other people always have something good to say. And reading their comments may start a discussion with me. When I find their comments interesting, I comment back and that usually starts a great discussion.

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't...:D There are a lot of discussions that I'm really interested and I want to post my replies to them in the time that's given to me...:D If I'm in a hurry I no longer read other's posts and I concentrate myself on my own answer. But when I feel like reading and learning other people's thoughts after I post my reply I read others posts...:D
