I have read that short-term stress can be a good thing. It allows you to get up and go, which in returns helps you accomplish your task(s).
I also read that chronic stress can be deadly.
Personally I do not like any kind of stress, short-term or chronic.
How do you handle stress short-term or chronic?

Hi agrant!
I'm such a visual person that writing it down makes me see better. In such a process sometimes I'm able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. But nothing is easy without working real hard. Short-term stress gives me that extra boost to complete my deadline while chronic ones are real bad. Given a choice I would opt for none. Just like you, I agree my friend.

Hi tomitomi,
Just curious what are you writing down- a possible soultion to the stress or the problems that are causing you to stress?
Yes, you are correct nothing comes easy and it does require work and work. At the end of tunnel hopefully there will be a little rest period.

In my limited view, a simple analogy of my problem-solving process that would have given me much stress would be:
a. identifying the problem,
b. identifying the cause,
c. identifying the consequences,
d. identifying the solution/solutions.
Writing these down on papers does help me a lot. Identifying the cause is to me the most challenging as that would lead to the best possible solution.

Yes, the days can get very stressful depending the type of job one has. One of my favorite ways of handling stress is to practise yoga meditation at the end of the day after I get back home from work. I have been practising yoga for some years now, and I find it very helpful in getting rid of the stresses. It is good for both physical and mental health.

I usually just try to stay busy doing something in the house. I can't sit around & just think about what's stressing me so i try to get it off my mind the best i can.

Short term stress can be good at some instance as it can motivate you to do the work without procrastinating. However, if you feel like this in every arena of your life, i don't think so this is good anymore. This might lead into chronic one, but one thing for me to get out of stress is i keep on writing. Though some says writing stresses you more as you need to think what to write. For me, it's just only some sort of brainstorming to locate things what caused me stress. Like this question "what things i did today that i don't like" or "which things i failed to do today", "what hinders me to do", "what suppose to do", "how long it takes me to do", etc. After jotting down or enumerating those things i laugh at myself. And whenever i marked failure my effort for the day then i wont give myself a break until i achieved some or resolved the knots. Whenever i achieved something then i treat myself to a fine restaurant, go shopping even alone, etc.

Hi Ron2dmax,
That is great that you can actually write when you are stressed. That would really be the last thing on my mind when I'm totally stressed. It is also great the you stick with it until you have resolved some of the issues. Thanks for responding and happy Mylotting.
