One usual reason of slow program loading is fragmented files that scattered sometimes even by hundreds of pieces for a file. You should defragment your disk every week or two if you're doing heavy read/write of major installation/uninstallation on your laptop.
Second reason is your TEMP folder probably full of junk/clutter from loads and loads of internet cache you haven't flush for months even years. Try to go to internet settings and find your way to delete all internet histories, cookies and all files associated with browser caching.
Those 2 steps usually resulted in a more responsive and better loading for both your operating system and programs running.

I do not much about comptuers, I think you so much information stored in your computer and it is booting up slowly. You need to delete or remove unwanted file into storage like CD let lots of free space for your computer to boot quickly.

hi kyle2krystel,
May be some virus problem in your laptop , which cant detect by your anti virus , so they corrupt your files , so you need reboot your laptop ..
Many time some virus are more powerful than our anti virus , so our anti virus cant detect them . Every day many new viruses launched , so its possibly that a new virus is enter in your laptop which is cant detect by your anti virus.
If your laptop not working properly after reboot also then you need to take advice by care center .

You can restore your system to a point previous to this evil functioning, that is to say windows gives you the option with one of his tools in order that you could choose a point of restoration, then the whole operating system moves back in the time up to this date and there are eliminated all the changes that can have taken place in your portable computer. If you it can solve that someone of these programs that recommended you, better, or with some another antivirus. But you have this option. He remembers that before doing it you must do a safety copy of the system, if it is that already you do not have one.

The best things that you can do is to first, to check your laptop for computer virus, spyware and adwares. Second, check what are the programs installed, there maybe conflicts in programs. Then lastly, if you do not have any choice, just reinstall your windows.

Just del your temp folder.
1.Go to run and type-%temo%
and del files.
2.Increase your computer virtual ram if u are having low RAM.
As you use your computer .dll files are deleted or corrupted
3.restore ur .dll files
runmsdossfc
that will help you..

If you use WinXP, you can try this :
Start -- All programs -- Accessories -- System Tools -- Disk Clean Up (or Disk Defragmenter) to get rid of some useless things that make your laptop run slowly.
If there is no hope, you should reinstall your OS to get more comfortable. Have a nice day :x

try reformat your laptop and install back your operating system.
it's should fix it back to normal performance. anyway, if searching some malware or viruses using other softwares, it might still be in same performance again as some might infected your operating system registry.

I think you should format and reinstall it.
I do this to my laptop once per six months because I usually try to install new software on it.
