I have a HP printer, and the ink cartridges are so expensive. I usually buy them on Ebay and lately they are hard to find. Well, I purchase a couple several months ago, and I got an email today indicating they have refurbish cartridges for $14.99. The price is good since the brand cost me about $25.00 on Ebay and in the $30s at a local retailer. I am reluctant to buy refurbish because I am not sure if they work the same. Any input on this will be appreciated.

I have been getting my ink cartridge from inkjet.com for sometime now They are re-manufactured for a set of 2 black and one of each color for $39 or $9 for each. I have had very good luck with them so far. I haven't been able to find the single cartridge for some time now.

I have re-inked my cartridges for a long time with no problems with the printers - Epson, HP and Canon.
It can be a messy job if care is not taken but the savings are huge.
I have a new Canon which takes chipped cartridges and these I get from an alternative manufacturer at a quarter of the original replacement price.
Printer ink is a huge racket and with many of the low cost printers it is best to use pirate inks as with the price difference you will 'pay' for a new printer very quickly.

I had no problem using refilled ink cartridges with my old Cannon printer. I have my cartridges refilled once or twice before buying an original cartridge with my Cannon and it worked fine. However, with my HP printer, it was okay at first but started malfunctioning later. When I bought a new cartridge, the malfunctioning did not reoccur. I guess it really is not advisable to just have refill with HP.
Have a nice day!

We have used a local refill store (franchise) that sells refilled cartridges. The salesperson at the counter was telling me that it is becoming very challenging to refill some of the cartridges from the newer printers because the companies have put chips in the cartridges that make it difficult to impossible to refill. They are working on a way to continue to refill these. She explained to me that the printers sell at a low cost and the companies make most of their money from the print cartridges. Is it any wonder that they will go to great lengths to make sure that others cannot refill them.
I have an older printer (sometimes it's helpful not to get too current with technology) and therefore the cartridges are refillable. If the cartridge does not work, the local store exchanges it for me at no cost to me. I also get a punch card that gives me a free cartridge if I purchase ten over time. That has come in handy.
The price that you mentioned is pretty much what I pay at the local store.

I'm also an HP printer user. And we used to buy original cartridges for my printer but like you, we also found that to be very expensive since we print a lot. So we considered buying a refurbished ink cartridge. So we did buy one but lo, our printer started malfunctioning. I never got to use my printer properly since then. I really don't know what happened, it just acted that way when I used the refurbished ink. Well, maybe it was just in my case you know. I know a lot of people who use refurbished ink and it works fine with them. But for my opinion, I don't think I would ever use refurbished ink again.

I used to visit cartridge world to get mine refilled. Would cost me about a third of the price of the new cartridge and I could get mine refilled rather than getting another persons that has been refurbished. They also have a loyalty program where if you purchase 6 your 7th is free. Have since got a new printer and they can't refill due to the chip they are installing.
