i am always a recipient of used items from my siblings. it consists of branded clothings, bags, shoes, etc. it saves me a lot of money especially nowadays that life seems so difficult, the prices of commodities continue to rise, while my income remain the same. so, are you happy wearing or using second hand items? please respond.

I shop at second hnad clothing stores often, and yes the main reason is to save money. Clothing can be very exspensive on the budget. I rarely buy name brand clothing from specialty stores. I am just as happy with my clothing purchases at Walmart. I have found clothes on clearance fro Walmart and Kmart cheaper than clothes in the second hand stores. I do have one favorite store, where the clothes are very nice and reasonably priced too. I think it's a great way to save money.

When I was a kid I used to wear hand me downs from my older sister. When I became taller than her, I had to buy my own clothes. We cannot even share clothes because I am one size bigger than her. So now my hand me downs come from my mom. But those are just few. But I also buy previously-owned clothes like in thrift stores. That's sort of a hand me down. It's cheaper and some are not even used yet. You just have to look real hard for good ones. I was never fond of brand names when it comes to clothes so that makes me very flexible. =)

I buy most of my clothes from rummage sales and thrift shops. I'm just too cheap to pay ridiculous prices for clothing! I don't mind wearing used clothing at all, as long as it's still in good condition. I hate shopping in stores where they have racks and rack of identical clothing; I don't want to meet myself coming and going! At secondhand shops you can find some really unique things!

I don't really have anyone around me to give me that kind of stuff, but if I did, I would definitely wear them if I liked the stuff. I don't see a problem with it, and I shop in second hand stores and in vintage stores from time to time, which is pretty much the same thing.

Most of the stuff i have, well mostly clothes are hand me downs from my cousin, coz she has a lot of clothes she buys and doesn't get to wear them all until they get a little outdated, they get stuck in her drawers or closet for a long time then just gives them away. Lucky enough we kinda have the same size. I, in turn give clothes that don't fit to me anymore to my younger cousins. It's like a cycle. I find it a blessing and i'm always thankful for it but sometimes i just wish i could buy stuffs that i want.

I get all sorts of handmedowns, not only on clothes but furniture, scraps, fabrics, whatever. I´m not sure if my first idea is to save, because I will not wear anthing I don´t like. But I don´t like to waste and I love making new things out of apparently things that should be thrown away. Many times, the second way of doing somethind is much better

You bet I am. I have taught my kids to not get bothered either by wearing hand me downs. My kids are pretty good at using second hand clothes. I had my sister's kids a few years back and they don't like wearing used clothes. Like you said when times are hard it is the acceptance of being able to stretch that dollar. I buy my kids new clothes too but never name brand. My oldest son is almost 12 and he is fine just being comfortable. It's not the name brand that makes you important. I passed by a community center and they were giving away free clothes so I found some for me to wear. I'm glad my husband is the same way.

I think even our life is second hand, although it is unique and unrepeatable for each of us. We live in a hurry, worry, with a rictus smile turned bitter, waiting eagerly to every month we receive emoluments from which we pay "obligations" and of what remains can enter a "second hand", forgetting that each is irrevocably passed last month, every day I forgot to find even a moment of beauty or goodness is a day failed. Second hand managed to find the interesting or maybe a coat of quality, but we will not find among shelves groaning under the burden of the past of others, another life even if it is used.
