Hi all, just want to exchange thoughts about traveling around the world. Well, I know some people from some specific countries they do traveling quite often, really really somewhere in the corner world. While other people whom I know, they just stay in their homeland, go nowhere cause FINANCIAL matter.
Some people who have financial matter with them might think that traveling around the world is not priority at all. While other people say it's a must.
So, what do you people thing about above matters? Please share! Thanks.

Yes, I would say that travelling around the world is on my list of things I want to do with my life. I love travelling. I went on a tour of France and Holland at the end of my second year of university. Two years later I went on a two month tour of Europe. I have been to Mexico, several states of the USA, and Egypt. Now with family and the current financial situation my travelling is drastically curtailed, but if I ever make a fortune, you can bet I will give full rein to my itchy feet.

I always wanted to go to Egypt. Knowing that you have ever been there, how was it being there? And did the people speak English as well? I'm wondering cause lot people told me Egyptian people don't really speak English.

Reading your comments just made me think quickly to plan a trip to Egypt! =) But I don't really prefer organized tour cause everyone around me says it is quite expensive, more expensive than holiday you plan yourself. But I believe staffs in hotel and on the cruise ships have capabilities to speak in English, especially in most popular holiday spots.

I loved Egypt. I was on an organised tour so language was not really a problem. We did visit a couple of bazaars and most of the merchants were able to communicate in a variety of languages. The same for staff at hotels and on the cruise ship.

Yes..:) But of course I need to have money first before I can do such thing...:D But, if given the chance I would take a job that would require me to travel from country to country. Though, it's kinda tiring but knowing myself I would really enjoy it...:D

Definitely agree with you, having a job which 'asks' us to travel form one country to another is really challenging. We can also discover this world a bit more. And when we go back to 'money matters', do you think it plays important role when you're deciding a trip??? Or, will you spend whatever you have to spend to have a holiday?

Yes, the same way as I think. If I don't have that much money, then I will definitely considering somewhere else where I can still get my traveling done! Other people just think that if you have no money, so no traveling for you. That makes sense, but for people who love traveling (like me) that just doesn't apply.

For me it is...:D If I don't have a large sum of money then I'll go to a country where I can avail cheap plane tickets...:D I can say that I'll risk everything I have for the sake of travelling to a certain country, I might as well earn and save money for it...:D It's like reaping what I've planted...:D

Traveling around the world was what I did when I was 20 to 21 years old. I let out my cottage, got a working holiday visa and bought an airline ticket around the world. I spent just over one year on my trip. I went to California, Hawaii, Fiji, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia. When I was 29 years old I did a trip to New Zealand and the South Pacific Islands. I have been to a number of other countries since then like South Africa last year and Canada this summer. However poor I am I still manage to go off traveling.

If you go on holiday after you work so hard and save so much, than it's not a luck cause it's something that you deserve. =). But let's say, in the case of 'poor', how would you manage to go off traveling? Wouldn't something compulsory bother you?

Thanks Charlies
When I was fit and healthy, I had this dream of traveling around the world and exploring out on my own... But God had different plans and now I am at the home... suffering from IBS and Rheumatoid Arthritis. Have been asked not to drive or walk or climb stairs... Miserable though it may seem....
But yes, they say "life finds a way out" and so I have also found my way out... I use Internet and its powers to stay connected with my friends, people around the world and think that I am traveling around better than I would have been physically.

So, do you think 'traveling around the world' is a must (for you yourself) ? I think you come from a country which 'allows' you to go everywhere easily unlike other people who don't have certainty for their tomorrow (correct me if I'm wrong). And, being a millionaire, is it your dream or is it your 'aim'?

i do love traveling. i think most people dream of traveling the world. it will be a great experience to see other countries and to experience what it feels like to live in other countries and to live like them and to eat their famous local foods. i wanna try out different international cuisine. and wanna see places and compare them to my own home or country.

I really agree with 'live like them and to eat their famous local foods'. For me, if we don't eat famous local foods wherever we are that means we are not there. It must be on my priority list once I arrive in my holiday destination.

You are definitely correct! Unfortunately, money is the most barrier for us to explore those things. Well, at least that is my personal point of view. I don't know about you, if you think the same way as I do.

Hi,
Travelling around the world is everyone's dream.
And of course,it is one of my dream too.
I wish to enjoy my life during my retirement,to travel around
the world, visit those beautiful countries and if possible,
I would like to spent the rest of my retirement life in abroad.
Financial is always the main concern to take into consideration
while talking about travelling.
No money, how to travel around the world.
So when we are still young, works harder and earn more money for
your future.

Yes, money is THE thing that always comes when someone is considering their holiday. Sometimes it is really annoying that money blocks us from traveling around the world, but that is THE truth that no one can ever delay!

It depends on people as to how they see it. For me, i like to travel but not at the huge expenses that need to be incurred.
But, travelling is a lot of fun and once in a while it is necessary just to get away from the usual boring lifestyle that few of us have.

As for me, traveling is like a 'must be done' activity. Whatever the condition is, I need just that way. I know it seems like I'm the way too selfish but traveling is really such a way for me to getaway from daily boredom, just like you wrote on the very last bit.

If you enjoy in photography, then traveling is such a way that you definitely have to do! Why? Cause by traveling you can then explore new and beautiful places which you can take picture of. Going to somewhere new just gives myself another challenge, exactly the same as you wrote : languages! It is sometimes funny for me to speak in something I've never spoken before. It must sounds so funny and weird. =)

Yes it's in my list. Since Ive dreamed of it since I was a kid. Ive been to three foreign countries. way far from travelling the world. Im trying to save for this. My dream ever since. However I must make sure that I have earned enough for retirement and not jsut for pleasure. I try to save 20% of my monthly income for that
@charlies2805 (777)

Hi there, I could see that you are in fact making your dreams come true by saving 20% of your monthly income for that. Sometimes I do the same thing but in the end I just delay it cause I think it's quite expensive ALTHOUGH I spare some of my money.

Travelling around the world is my interest and its my dream. It was in my list of my Enjoying life when i was teenage only.I like travelling to far away places and meet new friends.I like knowing tradition and culture of other countries. This is the only age where we can enjoy ourself as after all we may not get chance. We may get time but we won't be in a situation to move after having kids.

I really agree and understand what you wrote above. I see many young people go on their travel so freely till they forget times and places. Once they start their families, the frequency of traveling just suddenly drops down. You are right, we definitely get times but situation sometimes doesn't let us to do.

if i am a person who is financially stable..., and basically can afford anything... i would definitely travel around the world before i die... i would take pictures.., swim, have fun.., learn a lot of new things in new places..i would enjoy life to the fullest... i would trade anything for a chance to travel...=)
@charlies2805 (777)

Are you sure that you would trade anything for a chance to travel? =) I know some people did just that. Even sometimes I do the same thing. I sacrifice times, which in fact I could use to organize my work, for going on holiday. I can't help with my willing of having such holiday.

Travelling around the world is absolutely on my list that I must do in my life.I love travelling very very much. But as I have grown up,I can't use money from my parents any more,so I have to take my efforts to earn money to achieve this goal. But I always believe this day will come soon in the future. If my financial condition is allowed and I have vacation as well,I will go out for travelling without any hesitation.WOW,I can't even imagine it,it almost makes me into daydream.

Traveling around the world is surely on my list of enjoyments. I have been to a few countries and states. A lot of people tend to think that traveling around the world is very expensive but in fact a lot of times it can be cheaper to travel international then to travel on a domestic flight. I have even got tickets as low $350 round trip from Washington DC to Jamaica. I have also spend that same amount on a trip from Washington DC to Atlanta Georgia. I think that everybody should enjoy traveling because you get to meet other people around and become more familiar with other peoples countries and environment.

Hey there, thanks for the comments. Yes, you are right about the flight price. Sometimes going somewhere to different countries is a lot cheaper than going somewhere in own country.
