My husband and I like to sit outside on a cloudy day because we look at the clouds and see what pitcher we can pain in our minds. The we tell each other what we came up with.
We find it enjoyable and realizing. Also, it's amazing what you can come up with. my husband came up with the term "Cloud Painting when our children was little and we would do this as a family.
Also, we also look at the stars at night to see what we can come up with, as well. It fun.
Have you ever "Cloud Painted?
Take care

I never called it cloud painting, but yes, I have great memories of doing it. Also of star gazing. It makes you wonder if people ever do either of them anymore. Do people even realize there IS a sky above them, and that things go on in the sky, other than planes and rockets. Thanks for bringing back a memory. We got up one night and tried to drive far enough out of town to see the Pleiades meteor shower, but there was too much light pollution to see it.

that is fun to do and me and my wife end up laughing for sometimes i kid around. this is one way to do to take off the stress. nature can really give us another level of fun and laughter. this also shows that we are all young at heart when it comes to being close and appreciating the free things that are around us. it makes us happy without spending anything. nice avatar you have there snow. i wanted to start singing wiggle it just a little bit. har har har

Yes during long drives, although I have to admit have not been on a long ride in a while. It is sort of theraupeutic as while you are gazing into the sky you sort of are replenishing the mind.

yes, never as "formally" as you and your family, but certainly...
the most magnificent one I ever saw was coming back in a car from San Antonio, and in the sky, to the east of "12" was a beautiful bank of clouds highlighted by the setting sun and it looked like an army in chariots running toward the setting sun.
It looked for all the world like one of those grand Renaissance paintings...
Just FYI, while a cloud could be called a pitcher (because of being made of water droplets) what you are actually meaning is "picture"

i THINK IT'S GREAT THAT Y'ALL STILL ENJOY BEING TOGETHER DOING SIMPLE THINGS. tHEY are the best. I was just telling my grandson the other day about finding pictures in the clods. I haven't gotten him still long enough to do that w/him. Maybe when he's a little older. Happy weekend , Snow.

That is a great thing to do together. It really makes you appreciate nature and gives you both something nice to do as a couple and as a family.
I have never really taken the time out to lay back and do this but I am sure that I did as a child. I do know that I often do this while taking car trips in the countryside when I am not driving. It is great as a passenger to stare out the window at the distant clouds and see what you can make of them.

finding pictures in the clouds was one of my favorite childhood games. Even as an adult now, i can still find myself making pictures in the clouds. What started as a child's game has stayed with me and i still find enjoyment in it.

I don't do it very often... but I sometimes cloud paint. Just the other day me and my friend were gazing at the sky and was amazed yet too amused to see that an protruding arm had formed in the clouds to top it all off with a hand flipping a bird in the middle of the sky!!!! HILARIOUS!!!

Yes, I used to do that when I was little. I remember how me and my friends used to sit down in the hay, in hot summer days, and look to the sky, doing what you call "cloud painting". You can't imagine how many fantastic animals we saw on the sky!
It's strange that when I grew older I couldn't find time to do this again.
Yet sometimes, when I come home from work, I take a look to the clouds and remember my pleasant habbit from childhood.
