I probably don't know anything that is not common knowledge! I do know a couple of ways I save. I turn the air up a few degrees and use fans to circulate the air. I never use the dryer function on my dishwasher. I try not to even use the dishwasher too much only when I have company!

Thanks skmak for sharing the site. ^.^
I agree with you, everything that we want to change should start from ourselves first. If we wanted to help out and save energy we should start with implementing it on our habit. the hours we watch TVs, using the computer etc. thanks for the response! ^.^

put dvd players and coffee pots and anything with a light or clock on power strips and shut them off when not in use. all chargers with lights and similar items all draw an amount of energy constantly all day. shutting them all off regularly saves some electricity.

To add, you must also lower your thermostat. I like woolly jumpers - wearing one means I can turn the heating down. Lowering your thermostat by just 1.5C can save up to 10% on heating bills and reduce the greenhouse gases your household produces by up to a tonne. Also don't forget to regularly bleed your radiators to get rid of inefficient air bubbles.
Save energy, save money! :) Good day to everyone!

start by not using your pc for hours.. use fabric conditioners for clothes so that you wont need to iron some of you clothes.. Lights off when it is not in use.. dont put a lot of things near the fridge coz it will let the fridge cool things inside it longer which means more energy used..

Thanks for sharing! ^.^ although, I don't like to use fabric conditioner the clothes got this foul smell if the person sweated on it. Anyway, what I do is it let the clothes hang after rinsing them up, I also don't use drier to save, I just let the water drip, in this way the clothes will not be crumpled when they are all dry.

yes, being outside the house makes you save your personal savings. But I do hope you still do your share in saving energy even outside your home. ^.^
but if.. you being mostly outside your house means that you're just hanging out with friends and just talking at the corner of the street, playing ball or something (are you a guy? ^.^) then it's cool! ^.^ thanks for the response!

One thing you can do is to unplug everything you are not using, toasters, can openers, coffee pots, etc..Even if they are on a surge protector they are still using energy. I am not sure what the savings is, but I do know that it has to be $10-$12 a month....only plug in when you are using them. To save on gas, we are ding a lot of walking.

Turn off your tumble dryer.
Household appliances that give off heat such as tumble dryers, use lots of electricity. Whenever you can hand your clothes outside to dry. Turning off the tumble-dryer is a 100% energy saving solution. If you have to use your tumble dryer and you're looking to save money and energy, and for an eco friendly alternative to fabric conditioners you might want to try DryerBalls. DryerBalls are safe, non-toxic and environmentally friendly, they'll save you money, reducing your drying time by 25% and saving on electricity.
