I have deepfreeze installed in my computer. During the times the deepfreeze is in use i cannot save new files in which im constantly doing. I have to unfreeze everytime im going to save and i find it very irritating sometimes i forgot to unfreeze and whatever im working is lost. My problem is when im in unfreeze mode my computer is unprotected. I often got viruses, trojans etc.. So i use an antivirus software.. i am protected even in unfreeze mode but the system is slow. :( .. I removed the deepfreeze and switchback in using antivirus alone. How about you? what software you are using to protect from these harmful programs?

If you will use deep freeze for your computer, you must have partitioned your hard drive into two. Your OS should run on one partition and your "My documents" folder should be placed on the other drive. You can freeze only one partition where your OS is located and the other partition will be the place where you will put your documents. Deepfreeze is a good software if you keep on trying other software applications. It will prevent you from getting unwanted scripts and executable files. It is very efficient if you know how to use it wisely.

yes, better choose this option if you have two or more drive partition or harddrives but if not better choose of just having installed anti virus. Really recommend Deep freeze because its not not only for virus protection, it also make your pc more stable like you installed different games or application. they all write on pc registry that make sometimes your really fragments your pc like longer startup or shutdown time.
With Deep freeze, all things back to the pc technicians settings after restart!!

I dont really recommend using deep freeze for computers we personally use. It is more of made for internet cafes so it will aid in the maintenance of the computers. having to unfreeze/freeze it all the time is not practical at all. it is also very confusing and irreversible so it's very risky especially if you use your pc for business and school. i think antivirus and antimalwares would be enough only if we keep on updating it and running it every so often. along with it, we need to have a very safe browsing activities. we need to know which sites are safe and avoid those that are risky.

i prefer anti-virus because deep-freeze having disadvantage unlike anti-virus there's no need to worry about your saving files when auto restart your pc.

On my laptop with Vista installed, I use Microsoft Security Essentials. It's free provided that you have a licensed Windows OS installed. To further protect me I make sure that my system is up to date with the latest updates from Windows. I also use Malwarebyte's Anti Malware and CCleaner.

Deep freeze is only advisable for internet cafes. You can't save ANYTHING on your PC while using it. ok you might save some but will be deleted once you shutdown. I'm glad that you made the switchback! Just get a decent anti virus AND anti malware.

I use both antivirus and Returnil Virtual System (RVS).
Sometimes when testing software or interfere in parts of the system I'll use a software like DeepFreeze system freezes. Here I use the RSV.
RSV and DF(deepfreeze) have similar functions, but it is flexible and versatile than the DF in that it allows you to create a virtual partition is not subject to the effects of freezing. In addition it also integrates anti-virus tools available and many other functions.
Of course a powerful antivirus software like BitDefender, Kaspersky, Norton ... well enough to protect you in most cases.

I use deepfreeze because it helps alot especially when an unwanted and undetected virus attacks your computer, just press the restart button and its gone. or when you deleted something. :)
