Boarding School Pros
1. He/she may foster responsibility, independence, and self-sufficiency.
2. Despite what occurrences, there is stability in the teenager’s social and educational scene.
3. Periods of study during the semester are constantly supervised.
4. Teacher-student relationships may have more room for growth compared to that of an ordinary day school.
5. A student may be challenged with higher courses and standards while under a constructive teacher to student ratio.
6. A number of supplementary or athletic courses may give the student a broader range of options.
7. Structure is provided by set rules and guidelines which offer the students good foundation in order to become easily accustomed to the environment at the boarding school.
8. Student work and volunteer programs may be offered by the community.
Boarding School Cons
1. Your teen will be away from his/her parents and family.
2. He/she will go through a period of adjustment to a new atmosphere and environment.
3. Academic work will most probably be more demanding than that of a day school.
4. He/she will have less time to him/herself. Supplementary courses and athletics may be scheduled after classes and as weekend activities.
5. The school may have its own strict set of guidelines and rules, which if not followed may easily result in expulsion.
6. Part-time work for students is normally not accessible.
7. Students may assume unsuitable advice-giving roles with teenagers alike.

Boarding School just means to me an excuse for people these days to not take responsibilty for thier child and how they turn out... LMO

Even though there may be some pros to boarding schools, I would never consider it for my kids. I feel that they are my kids and I should raise them. They need to go to school for their education and socialization, but it is my responsibility to raise them. If they were shipped off to boarding school, someone else would be doing that.

Thanks for the info hun. But I dont think boarding school is right. It makes the parents less responsible for their child and how they grow up. There is enough of that going around these days without sending the kid to boarding school.
