That is very nice and it is usually a preference. Some people believe in the bible with their heart and soul. While others do not believe as they think that it is only written by man with no proof of it's scriptures existence.
I am one who believes and trust in the bible implicitly, but am not one to impose on those who do not.
I see you are new to myLot so welcome - welcome and happy myLotting!

The bible is our map in life. It has been written a long, long time ago, but the verses are still applicable to our present time. I also try to read my bible everyday because it gives me courage and strength to face the day. The Sunday school song says it all - "Read your bible, pray everyday. And you'll grow, grow, grow."

Reading the Bible is indeed a noble task. Binding the word of God on your heart is not not something that can be done in one reading. For the Christian, it is not only a life changing but also a lifelong endeavor. One cannot read it once and declare "I am done". I've been reading the Bible for over twenty five years and learn new things all the time. More often, I am reminded of what those who came before us endured, how God rescued, how quickly they forgot and turned away...and how much we are like them. I'm also reminded that one person can make a difference and that trusting God and investing in that relationship is so worth it. How often I am reminded that His ways are not my ways...and often I try to unravel the mysteries that I think will only be revealed when my Savior returns. Chief among these are: What is it really like to be created in God's image? and...How do I really align my desires with God's desires? and...How come we don't "get it" the way Paul did? Thanks for posting and standing up to be counted among the saints, you have a blessed assurance that it will not go unrewarded! Abundant Blessings!
