I'm not talking about your personal past. I attached a picture of the oldest house still standing in my city. Makes me wonder if I would have been able to live in the past, before internet, before all techno gadgets we have- and actually enjoy life? Would you be able to? It would give us more time to enjoy the world, nature, and each other in my opinion. What do you think would be different besides the typical things that always comes up?

I only think of the past when it does not give me pain. Memories that give me pain are out of my life. I think positive and memories that give me happiness are always thought of.

I'm very interested in the past. History is one of my favorite subjects. As far as whether I'd be able to enjoy myself, I'm not sure. I think I'd like some things but I'd miss a lot of the comforts of the modern life. Plus, some laws and customs are better now. I think if the rights and freedoms that exist now could be taken back into the past, I'd enjoy living in the past.

I wonder about this a lot myself. On one hand, the simpler life of the past is very appealing. On the other hand, I am quite addicted to new technologies and I wonder what I ever did with my time before the internet. But of course if we had really been born in another time, we would not miss technology because we would have never seen it in the first place!

I thought about the past. I saw the picture of old Avenida, Avenida is a certain place here in the Philippines, I even saw the Ilog Pasig and I thought and was amazed how it was look clean before compare at present, people already make it look disgusting and neglected. I have a thought that when I live on that time, i might smell the healthy air of the past. I will experience no traffic and there are no high rise buildings sprouting, you can only see big spaces which lots of lakes and trees. That life is what I like compare today.

Yes, I have thought this once when I was in my grandma's house with no current, no signal, no happiness! Well not "no happiness" actually because I later realized that it's fun. that was the first time that I enjoyed the world, everything that the nature is offering. Not far from my grandma's house is a small river where we played.. It was really fun. There were lots of fruit trees which i love so much. and at night, the trees were covered with fireflies, seemed christmas lights to me.. I think if I live in the past, where internet, tv, cellphones and among others were not introduced yet, it's okay. Of course, let's think that we can't compare our life with what we experience now. Our grandma's were able to live such life, so I think it's okay with us living such life. be blessed! :)

I do agree with you that there is something special and unique about the past when everything is simpler and not modernized. But it is something that only an old picture can revived. We are heading to something and it's exciting and yet frightening as well. Love to be in the past again.

Hi Sadie, The times you are talking about are really not that long ago. I've seen people here ask, could you live without you cell phone, and I really laugh. I expect there are others here like me who can remember when they didn't have any kind of phone. I am seventy years old and not only grew up without a phone but we had no radio until I was 12 years old. TV came several years later but there was only one or two channels. Of course we had never heard of video games. There were movies in black and white and there were plays. There was also the great art of storytelling which has been completely lost today.Families did more things together.People didn't rush as much as they do today. Blessings.

It is said life will be forward, we should forgot the past, though full of happiness and sorrow in our memories. I don't live in the past, because it's very important to cherish the current life.

Hi,there. I like history very much, sometimes I visit the ancient relic, they make me think a lot of , wondering how the ancient people living, working, have their family at at time. Yes, the modern tenology brings us a lot of convience and freedom, but it also let us lose many basic things. But in the past, still some people felt happy , some did not. So I think happiness depend on person's character, not the time.

Hmm according to me yes it was very nice, on that time they are very strong and healthy and they are full of active personality. But in this generation its very difficult to be stronger and live with healthy. We are struggling to lead life.

I do often wonder what it would be like to live in the days of like 'Little House on the Prairie' or live the style of the Amish. I think it would be interesting. Yes there would be no TV, radio, internet, video games, VCR's, DVD s, cars, washers/dryers, cellphones, telephones, light bulbs or any of the necessities we feel we have to have in order to survive. But, we would all be book smart and families would be spending more time together at the dinner table.

Yes, I've thought about that a lot of times and sometimes I cant stop myself wanting to live that kind of life. It was so simple back then. I'd like to see kids playing the common games outside rather than they sit in front of their computers or just playing psp the whole day. If given a chance, I'm willing to go back to that kind of life, wherein no techno gadgets yet. But I'd like to keep my cellphone, even if its just an ordinary one as long as it can send/receive messages and call of course, because for me this has become a necessity. It's like living in the past but with a cellphone and a TV w/ vcd/dvd player (or betamax, i dont care as long as I can watch videos) lol.

Reminiscing the past with good memories will remind me of an old house where i used to grow with no electricity. At night we sleep early except if it was full moon season coz we played under the moonlit so i wouldn't wonder how life would it be way back.

Hi Sadie. I remember the time you're mentioning when there were no cell phones, no computers, no hi tech gadgets, no playstations and it was not so long ago actually. Nobody missed these things cause nobody knew of them and we were all happy, living without these things. We used to play outside a lot, from morning till night inventing things like a go cart made with cardboard and we were very happy. People communicated more face to face unlike now when sometimes we only communicate by sms, emails etc. You can't miss what you don't know about.
