So I'm in Eng 101 and we had to read KINDRED for a couple of essay assignments. I got so engrossed that I wanted to find out more. So I lovedhow she entrtwines sci-fi with socio-economic issues. I just fell in love. I LOVE SCI-FI! So then I found FLEDGLING. Haven't read it yet but very anxious. Got a couple of books to read for class then I'm on it! Have you heard of her, read any of her work? What did you think? What did you get from it?

Kindred is my favorite book of all time! I read it in college just for the fun (it was not an assignment)and loved it. I did try to read one of her other books, but it was too sci-fi for me and I could not finish it. I am so glad you enjoyed reading it! I plan to buy the book and reread it soon.

No, I haven't read any of her work. Now you have me interested, though. I'll see what she has written and give one a try. I'm looking for a new author to start reading.
