During this economic recession, a friend of mine want to start his own business due to many advantages, such as negotiating advantage on space renting; and he would like to against the odd to start it during the economic recession, so everything will be cheaper than before. I don't know whether it is a viable idea or not. But I still support his decision, if he absolutely believe in his vision is right. It is hard to borrow money from the bank no doubt. I hope that he won't waste his saving plus his parents support. Do you think it is a good time to start a business?

It depends on whether he can get customers. If he invests in a new business and no one has any money to buy his product it would not be a good idea or so it seems. They will come but he will have to put more effort into getting them and as for the cash, now would be the best time as things are cheaper.
But I would advise him not to use all of his money, but just enough so that in case things go wrong, he has a back up.

Businesses are better established at the right time and at the right location, depending on what business he wants to venture, well it definitely will depend on his expertise and his will to pursue a particular business.

Having a business is really risky. You have to think on what kind of business you're going into, the location, the plan, the capital, etc. If you're friend thinks that he's ready to start one, then I guess that's a good time.

It really depends on the kind of business. Your friend should also compute the possibilities and the ROI. It would be great your friend could ask some advices directly from the parents and co-churchmen who have business.

Why not? It is a better option that staying as an employee to a company. Being in a company, you only earn fix amount. While business gives you opportunity else where. But keep in mind that this is a very risky situation. You need to analyze things first, It is never easy to give out your money for failure. Its your decision to make. Good luck!

For me there nothing wrong on putting a business in recession period as long as you know the business you want.In putting a business you must have also a study if is valuable to the your target client and always remember that there are many aspect you must consider before putting a business. There nothing wrong on borrowing money to the bank as long as you know the risk of taking there condition.Study first all possible aspect that can affect your business. And always remember there always a risk in putting a business.

Anytime is a best time to start a business as long you had a perfect plan and business model. Your friend must choose a business that is sell itself. Most importantly he must choose the product or business that people needs everyday like for example foods or services. In this way the business will never go wrong because people will always go for it.
Avoid business that only sell every now and then because every business needs a cash flow everyday. And minimize the credit as much as possible. Business is good as long that people will need the product you are selling.

What kind of business is that? How many employees does your friend wants to hire? Actually your friend must be really serious about this, he must prepare cash flow as well so that he could see the flow of his money. Aside from that he must not forget to do the business permits. Lastly he must have enough money for his employees. I am saying this because I have a friend started his business then it was already failed due to lack of funds. Only to find out that he was so naive in starting business because the budget is tight that is not really for corporation. Then he was not able to pay us until now.

Well,it isn't the best time to start a business but it also depends on what kind of business he/she wants to start. You see there are businesses that will do well despite the economy.Eg if you are dealing with things that people can't do without regardless of their financial status.Any business that deals with the basic necessities of life will always do well.

hello
This friend of yours is on the right line, but he needs to be told that if he starts a business in the time of recession, then he will have to be a little patient if he wants to reap the fruit of the tree he has planted today. Because of the recession, most businesses, even when run excellently, will only do so well. But if he lays down a good foundation now, and in the future we are able to pull out of our current circumstances, then it will pay off handsomely.
As for taking a load from the bank, or spending his family's savings, it all depends on how sure is he of his business. If losing those savings is a risk he is willing to take, then he should go ahead and take a dive into the ocean of business. You never know what fish you might catch...
