I get excited to respond to the discussion that I'm interested to. But, I'm little bit disappointed if I get no response from the owner of that discussion. Why most mylot users start their discussions and leave it as is? Do you think... What is the reason behind?

I'll be honest when I joined 2 weeks ago I got 30+ responses for my discussion but being the little newbie that I was I just read through them without responding to a single comment. I just thought there was nothing much to discuss, but now I am starting to think more about what people write back to me and I'll see in what way I can use it. I've been here two weeks now and slowly I'm becoming less of a noob lol.

Just like I am a bit disappointed as well from the owner of the discussion who would not bother to comment to his/her respondent. I guess they just need to be more educated that the more they respond to their discussion they will earn more. I guess once they knew this fact they will be eager to respond to their respondent.

I don't know why so many people do that.
I try to answer all of the responses I get. It is not only good etiquette, but it is also the point of myLot. To discuss...
Just starting a question and not responding to your answers is not a discussion.
Besides that is how we get paid. If people are here for money, I Don't understand why they don't answer all their responses. They aren't going to make anything unless
they do.
I see many people start discussion after discussion in one day.. And then never respond to any of them.. what is the point of this? I start one or 2 a week or less.
Sometimes I am just satisfied with answering discussions.

Yea, that is Why I usually only start one discussion at a time.. Because I want to properly respond to all that have responded to me.
I also do no bother to start a discussion if I don't have free time coming up to devote to those answers.
Otherwise I feel I just wasted my time and theirs.

Hi adel, I know exactly what you mean. I also get disappointed when my responses are not commented back on. I am not saying all my responses are worth commenting back on, but there are some responses that I gave, which I really gave a thought, and spend some time on.....well, when the discussion starter does not comment back on those, I really get disappointed.
I have to admit, when I first joined myLot, I didn't really understand about the discussion. I only commented back on some of the responses I get. That is until a senior myLotter gave me a tip that commenting back on the responses we get is a good practice, and also that it increases the chance that members will want to respond to your other discussion. So I now try to comment back on all the responses I get. Not only that I go back to my older discussion and leaving comments on the responses.
I think some myLotters don't understand that concept either, just like I was. There are some members who just won't learn as well. So, between those, we have all these discussions which just look like questions and answers instead of discussions.

There are some members who think that myLot is a question and answer site - Like Yahoo Questions or something.
I do agree with you that even just appreciating the time spent to respond would do. And what some myLotters don't realise is that the earnings increase when they further the topic on the comments.

Although, earnings is not my top priority (of course, I would appreciate if I earn more...) here in mylot, I would rather spend time to read and respond (at least once) on my discussion just to show my appreciation to those responders (as a whole) and not to let them feel that I am totally abandon the discussion and I don't really care what their opinions are all about.

Hi, adel09! Whenever someone responded to my discussions I always feel happy and excited because there's someone who gets interested in my topic. Sometimes,I managed to respond to their comments but then there are times that I missed responding to others. Before, I thought responding late to comments is inappropriate. But then, thanks for bringing up this topic; now I know it is really better late than never. Good day!

Maybe because the topic doesn't interest them or they are not knowledgeable enough on the certain topic discussed. Of course you don't want somebody who will just drop by in the discussion and say "I got it, Thanks for the info, wow, and other phrases w/c does not contribute anything. Better not join the discussion if you've nothing in mind to say.

hi adel some users still do not get it that they do not get paid for our responses so they go on to make a discussion every ten minutes thinking all those responses will really make them rich. NO OUR RESPONSES TO YOUR DISCUSSIONS ARE OUR WORK. WE GET THE PAY. yoU COMMENT ON OUR RESPONSES
YOU GET THE PAY. simple as c an be but some do not just do not get it.

I think that they leave it go, because they think they will get paid from the responses they receive, and if they would read the guidelines, they would realize that unless they comment back to the responses they receive, they won't earn. It is just a common courtesy to comment back. If users are going to take the time to read another users discussion, and respond, the least the one who started it could do is comment back. I have always commented back to the discussions I have started. I really do enjoy commenting back anyway, as I like to see what others have to say about it and then I can comment back accordingly. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

I hardly come back to discussion started for others, didn't realise people don't continue to come back. I am always checking back the discussions I start.
I got the feeling then people who doesn't come back are starting then to earn.
I like come back to my discussions and answer intriguing comments cause I really wanted to know the answers when I start a discussion.

I do also back to those discussions that I'm interested with. Hoping that I get the owner response.
The main reason why I start the discussion is, it is because I want to know the opinion of other mylotters. For me, It is my responsibility to answer those responses that I get. Unless, I can't handle that response but, at least I tried my best to answer to those responses that I can handle.

It is most likely because some mylotters don't know they are supposed to comment on all the responses they get. It took me a while to figure that out here, I didn't figure it out until someone told me on one of my discussions that I should be commenting.. oops
It could also be because they only posted the discussion to earn money and they think they don't earn for commenting.
