Why do people use a parking lot as a road?

I was at the grocery store today. I pulled out of my parking spot and started to drive towards the back of the parking lot to leave when a very large truck was driving through the parking lot and almost hit me. When driving in a parking lot you need to drive up and down the lanes and not through it. I do not know how many accidents have almost happened because of this.

Friend may be on that time that particular road is busy with verhicles for that reason he may took his vehicle on that parking lot. But whatever you mentioned is right, we should be very carefull about them. Other wise we will be in memories of our family members.

Because it's faster than waiting in traffic. If you can take a shortcut, why wouldn't you. Accidents only happen when you don't pay attention to things around you.

I have the same problem. The shopping plaza near here actually blocked off the side roads because too many accidents were happening there from people using them as cut throughs. People drive down the roads the wrong way or drive through parking spots then look at you as if you don't know what you are doing. There is also an intersection there where stop was painted on the road and people run through it all the time. Not too long ago someone actually hit an old man who collects grocery carts and used the excuse that they didn't see him. He now wears a bright orange safety vest. I guess I would have to say laziness causes that kind of action and not paying attention.
