Lottery Dreams

Anyone who plays the lottery has their dreams of winning that magical jackpot. The odds of losing in the lottery are often greater than winning. What would you do if you found out that you won the lottery, but you had to share it with another winner? What if the other winner was your best friend? Would you be happy about this or would the friendship suffer?

It is like finding a nail in a wheat field. In our country we have different types of Lottery. We have 6/45, 6/46, and 6/49. For you to win a 6/49 Lotto you need to have the right 6 number combination, and this is drawn from 49 numbers. But if you will compute the number of combination 6/49 Lotto have, you might not bet for it anymore. 6/49 Lotto has around 10,068,347,520 combinations. To compute for this combinations, try multiplying 49x48x47x46x45x44. Do your Math. This Lottery sometimes have a jackpot prize of almost PHP200 Million that is around $4.44 Million. But try to imagine, if you really want to 100% win this Lotto, you need to bet the 10Billion combinations and each combination cost PHP20.00($0.44). If you win this, then you'll be the luckiest man on Earth.

Hey sender! I am not one to believe in those type of "dreams"! I don't buy lottery tickets myself. I have bought them when I was working when the "office" pooled money (and lost), but never purchased my own lottery ticket because I just don't ever feel that "lucky"! My boyfriend buys enough for me and the whole neighborhood because he is one of those people who definitely believes he is going to win "millions" one day! I must say he is lucky though! He has hit the "numbers" twice in two weeks in a row and won $250 one week and $450 the next week-but, he is cheap and I didn't see a penny of it!

hi sender if my best friend Nelda and I won a jackpot I would love to share it with her, she has done so much I can never repay her so wou ld love to see her use half for her and her son. I would be so thrilled as we are good friends indeed and we are always happy for each other for any good luck that comes our way. It would not harm our friendship at all in any. My son and I and Nelda and her son have been close friends for many years.

Winning the lottery is by far God given luck to any one. If I won I will share portion of money to charitable institutions where there are so many who needs help, especially blind people, most especially in the developing countries and African countries where there are so many malnourished children who needs care and support. I will share also to some of my friends or if my friends got it, I'll ask him to go and share his win for any institutions whose purpose is helping the poorest of the poor in his place or around the world. Happy for him if he followed me.

Thanks for your response. It's nice to see that you would share your luck with those less fortunate. Not everyone would be so willing.

If I won the lottery with my best friend, I would be thrilled to share it with her. Even if we didn't go in on the ticket together (because we live in different states), if I won I would find a way to make her take part of it, even though I know she'd resist :) I can be sneaky when I want to be lol. But I wouldn't mind sharing the jackpot with another winner, even if I didn't know them. It's only fair, and it's not like I wouldn't still be coming out ahead!

I dream of winning the lottery evry week, even just a small prize would be nice. But , we all want to win the big jackpot eventually. No more worries about bills, loans, credit cards, etc. HEAVEN But we also need to remember, money cant buy you love or happiness. Money may make the world go round, but it also brings aot of misery to many people. It's good to have dreams though.

I will give my share of it since this is what is required by law. I would just keep my share and make it grow by investing it either in the stock market, time deposit, or in an apartment building which I can rent out and live from its residual income.

If I won the lottery I would not tell everyone. I would tell close members of my family and my spouse of course. I would share some of the money with my mother and siblings but would swear them to secrecy. Now sometimes my husband and his siblings will go buy lottery tickets with his mother and they would all chip in. If the ticket one, the money would be split evenly as that is fair.

Thanks for your response. Chipping in on a ticket is a good way to play the lottery. It keeps it fair all around.

I don't play lottery since I know the possibility to win is very small. I don't want waste my money. However, some of my friends are addicted with this game. They spend $2 - $3 everyday for lottery. I am happy if they win the lottery and I hope they could win it everyday so I will be treated for the lunch everyday . But it's pity, they often lose than win .

Winning a lottery has a very low probability, the odds of one is far lower than the odds of being stricken by lightning... If I win a lottery and I have to share in the winning, I really wouldn't mind at all...

If i won the lottery, which of course i would not because i don't play and you have to be in it to win it, I would share with whomever was entitled to a share. If the winnings were mine alone, I would share with those individuals i felt deserved sharing with. If i did not share with a particular individual, that individual is probably not my friend anyway. I only have 4 true friends and I would probably share with them. But if i did not, i don't think they would stop being friends with me just as if they won and did not share with me i would not stop being their friend.

Thanks for your response. Honesty goes a long way, even in the lottery. Dreams do come true You just never know when it will happen to you.

Like lulu1220, I would keep it quiet too. I would look after my family, but swear secrecy. There are so many stories of people's lives being destroyed by winning. I would do nothing rash. My instinct would be to see whether I could live on earnings from the money at least for some time. Frivolously, I would devote myself to reading and writing. Seriously, I would like to think I could do something for a charity or some cause.

Sometimes it is better to exercise a little caution when big money is involved. Thank you for contributing your views.

First of all, in my country lotteries have been banned and even if they were there winning one would be one in a million chance. One has to have tremendous good luck to win a lottery and in the process one has to spend a lot of money to win even a small amount. Many people become addicted to lotteries and spend all their lifes savings on them and become poor. It is better to have a decent job and earn money on a regular basis rather than whittle away funds on a lottery. However coming to your scenario of my winning a lottery and sharing it with someone, probably a friend, why should i be unhappy? As it is i would not have any control on who is winning or losing and if my friend also shares with me, i would be most delighted as he has not done any wrong.Rather both of us could go on a holiday trip together and enjoy ourselves.

Winning a lottery is nothing to be boast about. It's just a gift or luck if happen to win it. If I have to share the win with someone, example a friend, I wouldn't mind. We must be considerate on this issue most of the time. About friendship, I don't think it will suffer just because of a lottery win.
10 Aug 10
it's ok to share it 50/50 to other winner. specially if it's my best friend.
