I am dealing with a lot of stress and drama and was wondering what you all think is a better way to De-Stress...
Sitting down and either watching sad movies or listening to sad music and have a cry fest?
Going out dancing and just letting loose?
Playing Fighting Video games and taking your angry energy out on them?
Screaming in to a pillow?
Talking to a friend or family member?
if not any of these do you have any other ways you like to de-stress

I do three things that really help. I can get into bed and fall asleep when I am really stressed. Helps tremendously once I wake up even if I only nap for a short time. I work on crafts and it's so relaxing. The third thing I do is go to the casino and play Keno. Sit back, order a hot chocolate and play. I don't think about anything while I'm playing. These all work very well for me but am sure not for everyone. Talking to a friend helps but it also stirs my emotions and keeps me upset. Many times I don't feel like the problem at hand is resolved.

A good method is to try to always stay calm as much as possible. Take a deep breath. Sometimes you have to tell yourself that you're not gonna let it get you down as if you didn't see it happening. When it comes to stress you have to find methods to manage it. I laugh or smile as of saying that I know what I just saw but I'm going to ignore it as if I didn't see it.

when i want to de-stress, i go to an arcade and look for a game which involves fighting/killing zombies :) it works for me. also, i eat a lot whenever i'm stressed. I eat my comfort food such as chocolates, sweets, sometimes, something sour such as green mango or something salty, whatever tickles my taste buds for that day. my last de-stressing activity is sleeping :) it's the most relaxing thing in the world. Some people can't sleep whenever they're stressed but for me, it works. I don't think about anything before i go to sleep, that's why when i wake up, i feel refreshed and my mind is up to the challenge to work again :)

I like to get outdoors and let God and nature wash away the stress. Like other treatments, sometimes it is temporary, but it can be so refreshing and relaxing to be outdoors. The vastness of being outside also helps take your mind of the smallness of your problems - relative to the bigness of the World and God. I like to go kayaking because it allows me to release pent-up physical and emotional stress. I know this answer to handling stress is outside the box, but that's just me. Hope you feel better.

What I do is I talk to my boyfriend and I take out all my anger, sometimes I cry, it's just easier to take out all the emotions and it makes me calmer after.. And then after that I eat. LOL. I know it's really a bad thing to be an emotional eater, but that's the way I have always been, I eat junk foods when I'm stressed, I usually go to wendys and have a biggie everything. LOL.

De-stressing for me is a number of things, I do love just watching a good movie and laughing or crying, but I love playing rpg games also, they let me get into a storyline that gives me something else to think about for a few minutes, My a lone time at night (like now) when everyone in the house is asleep with a nice scented candle burning while doing some kind of work online also helps me forget my everyday drama in life, nothing beats having a few cents earned here and there, especially since Christmas is trying to sneak it's way back up on us again. ACK!

I think it all depends on what the person finds to be most relaxing. For me, after a stressful day, I usually look for comfort foods like chocolate cakes or ice cream and I like to sit and talk to my husband. It helps to have someone listen to what happened during the day, just so that I can get it out of my system. If my husband is not around, I opt to listening to soft, calming music while eating my comfort food

I empathize with you ruby. Stress is the biggest de-motivator in the current society. No one likes stress yet no one can avoid it, sadly though. But there are ways you can shed away stress and get refreshed and stay energetic. Try these things that I personally found effective.
1. Talk to people close to you and let out as much pant up feelings as you can
2. Develop a habit of breathing deeply and consciously -- it has a slow relaxing effect.
3. Do physical exercises every day - it relieves stored up stress from the muscles. Body gets tensed with stress. Read this article for more info:
http://hubpages.com/hub/4-simple-ways-to-keep-your-brain-healthy
4. Try brainwave entrainment audios -- you just play the audio for 15-30 minutes and allow yourself to relax. They are highly effective, safe, and quick: no side effects. You can get some free audio samples from this site:

Me and many of my friends now regularly de-stress with these audios. There are many other healthy benefits in the long run.

Well for me to get de-stressed I always just listen to music or go on the internet so that I could forget all my troubles and just relax the day away. I never did like having stress and I do have to deal with it quite a lot on a daily bases. Mylot also helps to get rid of my stress or even my anger it really does help.I'm sure that you will find something that works for you everybody is different when it comes to stress well different stress methods and you have to keep trying one after another till you find one that works for you.It took me a while before I found out that music worked for me and that it helped to calm me down and mylot I can just write down things and that helps me too. Watching tv works for some people to like watching something funny laughter is the best medicine is what they say so maybe laughing is what you need to do more of to get rid of your stress. Good luck.

It takes a strong will and disposition to put the source of stress in a box and keeping it closed. A good hobby could help as it would keep your hands and mind off the stressful situation.
I usually play the piano, putter in the gardern, or simply take a long walk without thinking of anything but simply watching people.

I just actually wrote an article about this. You may check the whole article here: http://applespooner.blogspot.com/2010/08/how-do-i-ditch-stress.html. I basically listed a few things I used to do to ditch stress--whether it be brought about by heaps of paperwork or by boredom from doing nothing. I hope that you'll get something from the article.

Watching sad movies will not make you happy or relieve stress! In order to pick yourself up, you will have to do something that will get the happy liquids moving in your brain. Going for a nice long walk will make you feel wonderful! Exercise is also known to relieve stress. Most of all, try to keep company with positive people who will help your life to flourish and become better. Misery loves company. Hang out with the Happy People and be blessed!

Hey Ruby_Dawn sorry your dealing with alot of stress, when im stressing usually talking to a friend helps just to vent it out. But my overall de-stressing medicine is music. Music really helps me relax and depending on what im stressing on sometimes listening to sad music helps (wierd) i know but it really helps for some reason. Alittle cry helps to but it really has to be serious for me to cry. But prayer helps alot to.. Dont spend to much time stressing lifes to short. ;)

I personally de-stress by walking with music. Something about hearing good beats with the physical activity of walking really seems to get something moving in my body so that I can think more clearly. Now if I am in a situation where I cannot walk (pacing doesn't count it seems to make me feel like a trapped animal) I sit down, and even if people are talking to me or what ever, I un focus my eyes and just listen to the sound of my own breathing. After a few moments of that, I start to feel much more calm and I can bring my self back into focus and deal with my situation better.
I learned how to unfocus my eyes by focusing on the air between me and what ever is in front of me (a wall or person). The object that is physically in front of you should become a bit blurry, but the air and things in between will be nice and crisp. I don't know what it is about that step, but with out it deep breathing does nothing but make me breath deeper.
I hope this helps and good luck with whatever is stressing you out!

I got only one way to de-stress myself and it's the nature :)
I love green colors, specially forest green, or grass green, it's fresh and make my eyes feel great. And i love to hear the sea ... this magic song of the water, it's like a song of wood-nymph ...
I just lie down the sand, close my eyes and free my mind of all the crap we meet and have to deal with every day.
Try to go to picnic with friends, or just walk near some park of forest and i'm sure you will feel very well :) God bless you.

I'll sleep for a while to get de-stressed. When I wakeup after a smal nap, I feel fresh and active. If its mid of the day i can't help it. Regular yoga or meditation will help to reduce the stress and to control emotions.
