Don't you hate it when you wait long hours in the bank while in standing?

It's taxes payment time and to avoid the rush I decided to pay our office taxes and contribution a day before deadline. Two days ago I went to BPI bank to pay for taxes and monthly contribution. The line is long and we have to stand to fall in line. I waited for like estimated of almost an hour standing. I know that the line was line because of taxes payment and the fact that the transaction needs time. In our home bank which is BDO, they don't have taxes payment but still line is long and we have to wait for almost 30 mins. standing again. One of the factor is the teller counts is about 2-3. Have you experience the same with your bank? What is the longest hours you waited in the bank?

I hate waiting for long hours while standing cause I have experienced it many times not in a bank. Fortunately, the banks I've been to have chairs and sofas for their clients.

Lucky for you. I don't know why this bank rid the chair and bench and it takes years before they accommodate their client.

Hi Laniekins!. I don't like to wait in line too but luckily the bank I used today have great customer satisfaction rate. I usually get my number and wait my number to be called by the clerk. I usually wait in the sofa their given for the customer. It is still I had to wait for hour if in busy hour. I just don't know how to spend my time. So I usually wait until my number called I play a game on my cellphone or surf the internet.

I hope they will copy the customer service they had on your bank. The number system seems good, they can sit down while they wait for their numbers to be called. I don't know why most of the banks here didn't put any couch or bench. Plus most bank prohibit customer to use their mobile phone, even if I want to play games on my phone, I can't.

I hate that so much. 3 tellers open and 20 people in line. And of course those in front of me ALL have some long detailed problem to deal with! I dont' get it. Why don't they have a teller for deposits only or payments of this or that only. And it don't matter what day or time of day. It is always a line.

For saving money purposes, if the tellers can stretch their work and still perform this jobs then they will never hire another. The reason: the line is not full all the time.

hi laniekins yes I sure do and as I have a bad leg with a brace and am 84 I feel it pretty fast, and often wonder if by the time a cashier opens a window I will be able to walk again afer standing so long. And the bank where I have my account is mostly younger people in line, not a one of them would think of sa ying, you go next I can wait. no older people are not thought of as anything but something to be avoided by many US young people.those in other cou ntries actually admire us older people.

Waiting for long hours while standing really s**ks! I end up hurting my legs and probably getting more varicose veins. I only have mobile phone as gadget and I do not put music in it. They prohibit using mobile phone at the bank.

That's good to hear that they taken care of you. You must have a big money in the bank, lol. Only VIP can afford that special treatment. It sometimes pays when you know someone from the bank or any store.

This happened to me when I woke up late. Banks here in Philippines operates 9am to 4 except for one bank and that's BDO which their operation starts at 10am to 7pm. The person who's in charge of my order asked my if I could make a deposit on that day to finalize my order. Since he was a client of BDO, I was not in a hurry. And it was a Tuesday - so I assumed that few people will be on the line. When I got to a mall - I was so shocked to see the line that long. LOL. I don't know how to react but the first thing in my mind was I have to eat first because this line is gonna be a struggle. So, there. With my war against standing in line that lasted for 2 hours. Only three tellers at that time and usually, when you en cash a check, it takes long cause of the verification and etc. Oh, well. No choice that day but to just stay on the line. No pain, no gain. LOL

I am not fond standing in line when i go to the bank. I remember one instance where I had to complain to the bank employees just to have the line going. Yes, I do hate waiting for more than 30 minutes just to get my money deposited to my account. Everybody has the same sentiments when I say that the banks should accommodate their customers without having customers get upset.

There are clients who complain about long line and slow performance, but there is nothing they can do, bank employees find no words to say but clients just have to wait.

Hmmm. I don't really go in the branch if I see that the line is really long, unless I really have to. hehehe. I take advantage of online banking, and the cash acceptance machines of BPI in their main branch so I don't have to wait in long queues to deposit money or to transfer or withdraw money and to pay bills. I like what they did to BPI now, where they put seats in the middle of the branch, and they have this machine where you enter your transaction, I think this minimizes the total number of minutes you'll be transacting with the teller which is a great thing.

When I had to go to the bank, I would usuall wait about 20 minutes at the most. Now I bank online and my paycheck is directly deposited into my checking account. Thank goodness for the internet!

20 mins. of waiting while standing sucks, I've waited more than that standing and fell sleepy. Last Monday, I feel I want to pee but there is nothing I can do but to wait for my turn to pay. I don't know if they share toilet to the client and I can't leave my line.

It is annoying to wait in long queues not only for banks, for anything. These days banks are providing a few seats for the waiting lot. All the same it does hurt the banks clients. It is most annoying when you notice the officer/assistant/clerk at the counter spends time in attending to someone out of the Q, and gets royal treatment from inside. Well, that's what happened to me several times, and today also. That is our lot. We sustain the banks by our funds and we do not get the respect we deserve.

In our place, we more often have to wait in queue for our turn in the bank. I can't say it's efficiency on the part of the staff or in the system of the bank. I have waited for over 2 hours for my turn in out place.

Sure, it is quite annoying to wait for a long time in the bank. Sometimes I think the bank staff are not very efficient. And sometimes due to the broken ATM machines, I have to depend on the bank staff. It really wastes the time to wait in the bank. This is why most of the time I like to deal with my bank issues via E-banking. If I need to deposit or withdraw cash, then I will go to the ATM machine. If it is not necessary, I don't want to go to the bank. I love China

It's a good thing I don't have taxes to pay...while I was still working in a conventional job, taxes are already deducted to our earnings so I don't need to go to the bank or elsewhere to pay for it. I only go to the bank to get a new card if ever it gets lost or stolen. For bills, I access my account online. It's easier, safer and less taxing.

The 2 bank teller had not lunch at the right time, the one had her lunch at past 1:00pm and the one still works, she will wait for the other one to return before she can have lunch that is why maybe they work slowly.

Hi dear, In our country (India) the last date for filing the tax return was July 31. However, the authorities extended the date to August 4. Now the filing the tax return has made online and simplified very much. Once the return is submitted by online, we can take the print of the receipt and can deposit the slip at various drop boxed kept in the city. We can drop the same in the boxes and the authorities will collect. Within 3 months time we will get the sealed acknowledgement receipt by post to our residential address. Also, we can directly submit the return to the tax office. This time also I didn't opted for online. The computation prepared by one of my friend and I forwarded the return copy along with the others office staff with our office boy to the tax office. As our office is a CA firm, there are thousands of returns prepared and submitted for our clients. I suggest you that don't wait for the last day or last moment for filing the return. So that you can submit within 15 mts. time. Here also, at tax office, we have to wait for 1 to 2 hours, if it is the last day. Even I have been in a bank for 45 mts. to get my token number to reach. But in banks there is no 'Q' system because there is token system is working-out. We can collect the token and can wait anywhere in the bank. But, now-a-days, all are fast and will happen all transactions within 5-10 mts. Regards, Thank-s

I was once queue up to bank in money for about 1.50hours. That was the longest time I have spent to do my transaction. After that I never go to bank anymore, I will only withdraw money through ATM machine and make payment through online banking. To queue up at the bank is a waste of time when we can use the advance technology we have today.
