City or provincial life?

Tomorrow I'm going to go to the province with a local friend to visit her family. I'm excited to be spending time with her in a farm. Life in the city can be very stressful so I expect this 3-day holiday to be a restful one. I will be away from my computer for few days then :( but that's alright, I think. I'll be back soon.
What do you prefer, life in the city or in the province?

When you are born and brought up at the city and even spend much of your life here, it becomes quite difficult to adapt to the province kind of life. I have recently shifted to the outskirts of the city I have spent my life and here I am feeling bored and stuck up. There are so many vital changes that I am just unable to cope up. I had forgotten what power cuts mean. But here there are frequent power cuts. This is just one of the many examples. There is no clean drinking water, no high speed internet and things like these.
However, if you are planning to spend a day or two at such a place, the idea can be great and if you get to go to a better province, nothing like it.
Enjoy your time

You're right my friend. The convenience in the city is one main reason why I'm still here even though my mind is wanting some respite but have to work and keep up with the demands of life. I'll just reserve the provincial lifestyle when I'm ready to retire.
Thanks for sharing your valuable thoughts here. I'm off to get ready for tomorrow's trip. blessings!

I have lived and grown up in the city. I have only lived in our province for only 6months and I liked it there actually. Very peaceful and the people there are different from the city. You can leave your things outside your house and nobody will ever dare to get it, unlike here in the city where a lot of thieves and robbers. It's also a bit relaxing staying in the province, no traffic, less pollution and the scenery is also nice. But I would still prefer living in the city, no matter how i like it there in the province. City life for me is more fun and the all my friends are here, though i can make friends in the province, still the excitement is here in the city.

You have a good point there. I'm sure my teenage children will groan if I move the family to the province. They like the fun and convenience that a city can offer. I guess I'm just feeling old and wanting a slower pace and more quiet environment. Thank you for sharing your thoughts here. I appreciate your valuable input to the discussion.

I have lived life in both places, but I surely can tell you it is in the country or in a small neighborhood outside the city.
City is very hectic and stressful.
Thank You

Thanks for joining our discussion.
I am now back from my short holiday in the province and I loved it! So now I'm thinking of moving to a smaller neighborhood just a bit away from the city. It shouldn't be too far from my workplace but far enough to enjoy a slower pace.

I have always lived in the city, but I really want to try to live in the country side at some point in my life, maybe when I have kids. So it is one of my goals, but since I have never done it, I can't say for sure that I prefer it or anything, that remains to be seen!

I prefer life in the province. Simple and easy. At the same time you can enjoy the freshness of nature. But of course earning and opportunities in the province is lesser than living in the city.

I have always been a country girl by heart. It is so nice to grow up in a country side. When I will retire I want to come back to the country side and spend the rest of my remaining life there living in a farm.
I am currently living in the suburbs where you get the best of both the rural and urban life. In suburbs you get to experience clean living with fresh air and the laid back lifestyle of a rural life. You get to personally know your neighbors. It is very conducive for a child to grow in a suburb where he can play with the other children in the neighborhood and not worry about pollution. Prices of houses are even cheaper than those offered in the city.
What is good living in a suburb is that it is just near the comforts of the city. You can always experience the city life and it is always near to the best schools in the country. Plus there are more employment choices here. Basically you get the best of both worlds living in a suburb.
