Hi, In the first place, is there any food leftover over the counter? If yes, please get rid off them. It may lead to some ants always come to the counter area. You can simply buy some powder form pesticides to kill the ants. It happen to my toilet area whereby lot of ants keep coming] out from the tiny wall of the wall, then I spread the pesticides and it was gone after one night. Make sure you always clean the counter before you left at night.

Hi friend! There are days that ants really do invade our homes. Coackroch chalks could be helpful although I hate seeing those white lines on my cupboard and counter. Sometimes I do use solution of water and sevin powder which I spray in all four corners of the house so that ants could be fully stopped. But sevin is a poisonous chemical so I also limit myself from using this. I hope someone here could give a more environment friendly solution against ants.

I use Notix a safe insecticide. It kills the ants in minutes. It also has a pleasant smell. Notix takes care of cockroaches and most importantly it is used on pets to get rid of mites and other stuff.

Try using salt. Carefully sprinkle salt at doorways, window sills, and anywhere else ants sneak into your house. I've heard ants don't like to walk on salt. Hope this helps.

I have this problem a lot and I have also consulted my friends on this. Well, the first thing would be not to leave food out in the open. After cooking, I always wipe the table, working counters, sink and then mop the floor. Dettol can be used to wipe the table surfaces every night. Ants simply hate the smell of that. Also it keeps your place hygienic and removes bacteria too, so try it. There is no permanent way to keep them out so you have to be very diligent everyday.

if you worry about insecticide place " corn meal " on the counter, the ants will eat it, take it back to the nest and die, ants cant digest corn meal and will swell up and die. there's also a product called " terro " which is a liquid that you place on the counter in a corner the ants will eat it take it to the colony and die, whats good with terro is it will get rid of sugar ants also. i saw a few sugar ants on my counter a few months ago and placed terro in the corner of the counter, within 2 hours i had a line of ants 10 foot long coming out of everywhere eating this stuff and havent seen an ant since.

Why do want to get rid of the Ants? Ants are symbols of activity. It will remind us to work actively. I hope you are a sweet person that is why Ants are coming to your counter. My suggestion is learn to live with them :-) But I would like to suggest COCKROCH LINER

Hey Bebs~ I'm not going to tell you I have ever found the perfect solution. I live in an Apartment Complex and have the Exterminator come every week until they are gone even if it takes months! They seem to prefer putting traps down rather than spraying anymore because of the "environmental laws"! I don't care what the laws say I don't want ANY bugs in my house so I tell them to spray as long as it doesn't hurt my cats!

Our bug man that comes to my work every 2 weeks to spray our building told me to wipe the window sills and counters with vinegar. I guess ants don't like vinegar. I haven't tried it so let me know if it helps.

My nan use to put baby talc right around the out side of her house to stop the ants from making their way indoors. She did say that the reason this worked was due to the ants not wanting to have the powder on them.If she had any in her kitchen after putting the powder out side, she would kill them as soon as she saw them. They also say boiling hot water kills them on impact, hope that helps you.
