Twitter. Seriously does anyone see a big difference?

Maybe I don't have enough followers because I only recently started tweeting. I am sure that would make a difference. I know for sure that I didn't get any extra page views on either of the two writing sites I tweeted the articles from. I tweeted a lot of articles too. I guess that didn't help. I tweeted old articles just so I would know whether or not there was a difference. If twitter is making a difference for you how do you do it?

Don't feel bad. I haven't figured it out yet either. I know how to tweet my articles because there is a shortcut on the article site to tweet from. As far as using "Tweets" to connect with people, I don't have a clue. LOL Good thing I didn't want them for that. LOL I am still trying to set up people I want to follow. I usually have to wait for the person to follow me so I can push the button to follow them in return.

I don't use twitter anymore. I only first started it so I could follow my favourite celebrities but I have found no time to do so. I still have the account and maybe will check it once and awhile. I honestly didn't like getting random followers requests from people I didn't even know. With this day and time their are just so many social sites to use that it's hard and sometimes pointless to have several when you can just keep up with your friends from just one like say facebook or myspace.

I haven't really used it to follow people. I just started using it. After the second day I can tell you I had no rise in page views on my articles, so I am not sure it is doing anything for me. LOL I didn't know people really used it for a social thing. What on earth would one tweet? "Just woke up, hair standing on end." LOL

After the second day? You ARE kidding, right? What the heck did you tweet? I saw a $2 increase in earnings after a couple hours of tweeting early last week.

Twitter is most useful to people who have something to promote. If you don't have a product or service you want people to know about it's not necessarily useful unless you are following your local news agencies and other venues like your favorite stores or restaurants.

Hello, When i first join twitter i never really got it that well, i was on and off of it, but once you have good number for tweeple who reply to your tweets, recommend you on #FF (follow friday) and stuff you get more followers. More followers = more people watching your tweets = more exposure. It does make a difference, just be careful as there's a lot of fake automated accounts on twitter, which don't really make a difference. Also you don't want your twitter home page to be filled with links to stuff the bots are promoting. You should also try joining in some follow back twitter lists, these are people on twitter who will follow you back when you follow them. Try using tweetdeck, its a management tool for twitter where you can filter tweets of certain people you follow, post simultaneously at facebook, and other social communities. Best of luck!

Kind of, making money on twitter would be through the paid link sites, referral invites and sort. But i don't really post stuff with lots of links in it, people think to think you're spam and don't read at all. The trick would be to post real messages and limiting the number of links in the tweets. best of luck

Now I am confused. You go to the link on someone elses tweet and you hope they do the same for you? So how do they know you were there if they don't have the software?

Okay, so the idea on twitter isn't to actually go to the person's link but to retweet the link after going to it? Okay seriously, you guys making any money off of this?

I really like twitter and notice a big increase in page views when I tweet an article. I try to use the # tag to direct people to certain items. For example, if you wrote about animals in the zoo for associated content. I would put #zoo #animals #ac. It helps people that are looking for specific articles. Sometimes others who are writing for the same place will check out your articles. I think you will like it if you stick with it and keep adding more friends. Good luck!

Canellita, you must have some serious followers. Sherry, thanks for letting me know about the # sign. I didn't know that was how to even add tags. Good advice! I might have to keep trying to add people.

I have found that the more I tweet the more I earn. I've already made more in the first 10 days of this month than I used to make in a month before I started tweeting and using FB.

I only have 238 at this very moment. However, I have posted 1950 tweets. My tweets are inspirational quotes and links to my articles and blog posts. I also retweet, especially local stuff. I have been listed 13 times ( a couple times as someone to follow or worth a retweet) and I schedule tweets to update at night while I am sleeping so I still have activity going on when the other half of the world is awake. You can schedule tweets as frequently as every 5 minutes with the free version of social oomph (socialoomph.com). Don't add people at random. Add people you really want to follow and who are your real friends who will retweet you. (Hint)

Hmmm, maybe you make the wrong sound. You need to make tweeting sound like a sparrow, not hissing sound like a snake. You will terrify all the little birds who are busy tweeting. Not all people who use Twitter see a huge difference in page views. I think you can use Redgage and Reddit to bookmark your articles as well. None of my friends use Twitter. It is not really popular here, especially when there are some reporters who write negative things about it. I think Twitter is not going to catch up here.

Hi Mommaj, I dont know what is cucoo birds. I ask those noisy little birds, they dont know the existence of such birds too. Maybe you can get the birds from the dinosaur age. I suggest you go out to the field and kidnap a few birds. Ask them to teach you to tweet properly, otherwise you cannot get page views from Twitter. Make sure you work hard to practice tweeting every day. I think you can go to Canellita house and tweet every day. If she throws rotten eggs at you, that means you make the wrong sound. If she throws sunflower seeds, that means you can get the international diploma for tweeting.

Hi Canellita, I have considered the pros and cons of joining Twitter, and I think the cons outweight the pros. There are quite a few discussion threads on this matter in Hubpages and forums. The time spent on Twitter for following and getting followers hardly make it worthwhile. There are some negative press in our area. I think most people in our region still stick to Facebook, and Myspace. I have not heard of any colleague/friends with anything good to say about Twitter.

LOL. I can see why it wouldn't be so popular if the reporters are giving bad reports. I certainly haven't seen any difference, but I only have a small amount of followers. Maybe it is the noise I am making. Do you have any cucoo birds I can borrow? I think I spelled that wrong. LOL

I have 15 people following me, but it's just tweets for reviews and stuff I put on the internet, I'm surprised that I even have people following me at all.

Hey, that's pretty good. I only have six. LOL I do articles and I get about 600 page views a day. I have over 1,000 articles though. I would like a pv for each article. LOL

Create a spread sheet with all your URLs to all your content. That way you can easily tweet in seconds via copy and paste instead of minutes having to navigate to each article each time you want to tweet. Tweet the stuff that gets the least amount of traffic first to help boost your earnings and views.

Fortunately, with AC you can just hit the twitter button at the bottom of the articles. Examiner has a twitter button too. I think it is sooo much easier to use with the button already available on the websites. I still don't know how to set up tweets.

Facebook and twitter are like apples and onions. FB is closed unless you create a fan page so your links do not get indexed. Twitter is for "sound bite" type comments and link/information sharing. You can get updates from your local news media or just communicate with friends. FB allows you to share photos and travel stuff and all kinds of other things and you can play games. There is no comparison other than they are two different types of social media.

Yes, you are wrong. Twitter is a platform for sharing information. What makes it valuable to you as a user depends on who you are. You could use it to get updates on your local weather, news of special sales at the grocery store, etc. Many retailers do giveaways and offer special discounts to people who follow them on Twitter and Facebook.
