The simple life of the little box that travels the world...

A friend of mine that has a business and lives in the UK makes jewelry and several other things. She makes pillows, scented candles, and baby baskets with all types of things in them for a baby.
Her business is taking off, but she needed some items to make jewelry when she first started making jewelry.
I use to make jewelry and dream catchers years ago. I had tons of things left over from making my things. They were just sitting around here doing nothing, so I decided to surprise her and send her the supplies I had left.
I found a suitable box that would hold the gem stones, and other things I wanted to send to her.
I boxed them all up and taped them very well inside this box.
I mailed it to the UK in Liverpool from Hillsboro, Tennessee.
This is the first part of the journey for this little box.
One of my friends, that many of you know will have to do the second part of this story.
There are three parts to the little traveling box.
Watch for it to come....
Have you sent something to someone that wound up being used for something else?
I did...

LOL. Yep!
Got a box from you once that was so well taped it took me forever to get it opened. But my oh my was it worth it. (sparks licks lips!).
So let's get this straight. Your box left the U.S. and travelled to the U.K.
Now it's leaving the U.K. and travelling to ???????????? (we'll have to wait for the next installment of the story to get the destination.)
And when it gets to ??????????? it will leave there and go to ???????????????...
I can hardly wait to read the next installment! And the next one, and the next one after that!
What fun!

Yes Sparks, it let Hillsboro, Tn. with lots of goodies in it. It was a relatively small box but I know how to pack things really well and she had lots and lots of things to use for making new jewelry.
The box has moved on and she no longer has it, so where will it go next....who knows!

I know you do, but we must keep up the suspense don't we and who knows this could hae more parts to it as time goes on.
It helps to know more about things if everyone reads each response dealing with the little box. lol

This sounds so interesting and it was kind of you to send her materials. for the moment, I cannot remember anything like this happening. But will give it some thought. I am longing to hear about the other two parts of the storyYou are from Tennessee? apart from Antique lady I have very good friends form Tennessee. I have visited there (just a little part of it) and thought that it was wonderful. You also have a fantastic store there - I believe it was called Ross? I went crazy in there when I hit the sales. My dream is to reach antique lady one day and take her out for lunch. Wouldn't it be great if we could all meet up one day?

aaaah, so you've been to Tennessee. It is lovely here and there are some plenty of stores, tons of them in fact.
The second part of the story will be here sometime today, I think.
Oh yes, it would be wonderful for us all to meet up. We would have such a good time.
Nashville Tennessee is known as the city of music as this is where many singing artists are and do their recordings.
If you plan to be over this way agin, let me know. I'd love to meet up.

Oh that sounds so nice. Please let me know when your next trip is planned and I will make sure to meet up with you. Nashville is about 90 miles from me to the bottom end. I don't mind coming up there at all to meet you. In fact I'd love to.

Oh yes, she tells me all the time how much she appreciates that I sent her that stuff. SHe also made some beautiful bracelets for my 3 grand daughters and I have bought a necklace from her made from 5, count them 5 of the amethysts in it. I'm so proud of my new necklace.
It's nice that she can make things. I can not do it any more and I have tons of ideas so I feed them to her...lol

hi moondancer this sounds like it would also make a great short'story the Little Box That Travels The World. So I will wait with bated breath for the second installment of this tale. I gather the recipient of this box is going to make some elegant jewelry that is going on to some place
really exotic. I have not sent anything like this bu t this story is
'really intriguing me as I think I know who the first recipient is
but this will be very interesting so tune in later, huh?

Yes, hatley it's kind of like that, but I don't want to give away the story. There are 3 parts and it could go on to be more.
Some of us here are so close as friends that some things we do keep us close together. She has made jewelry with the amethysts and the jade gem stones as well as other beads and things I sent.

Hi moondancer! I think that is so very sweet, wonderful and way
"cool" of you to send "our friend" those items! I can't wait
to see what she makes of them! I think I might have to put in
a "personal order" for a Dreamcatcher! I love them and had one
that got all worn out from years of hanging on from my ceiling!
And then if I do get a Dreamcatcher that would make me part of
this very special journey too....

Opal, I'm sorry my arthritis is so bad that I can not promise you a dream catcher made my be. I will tell you that I will try to make you one. I do have some of my supplies as I did not send her all of it.
People that make things may understand how I just could not let go of all of my things. I still have some of them and she did not need some of the things I used to make the dream catchers, as this was not the type of material she needed.
I will do what I can to make you a dream catcher.
If I am not able to do this however, I can make sure that you get something that will allow you to be part of this adventure and who knows it may have more than three parts to it...

Oh, that is okay Opal, although she did mention trying to learn to make them too. But they really are time consuming to make. The really small 4 or 5 inch hoops take 2 hours of straight working time to make and the 7-8 inch ones take 4 to 6 hours and the 10-12 inch ones take at least 7-8 hours to make. That is after having all of the things picked out that you want to add to the dream catcher and not getting up except to go to the bathroom. So they are very time consuming and she needs things at this time that don't take that long to make. She needs to build up her store much much more before she can spend that much time on one item.
This discussion or story really is about the little box that has traveled.

OMG NO! I thought that you meant "our friend" was going to
now be making the Dreamcatchers for her store! I didn't mean
you should make me one! I got confused! I thought our multi-
talent friend had another talent I didn't know about and here
I find out you are the one that makes Dreamcatchers! Oh my no
moondancer, don't worry about it! I thought you were just
drumming up some business for our friend! I have arthritis in
my knee and ankle and I can barely walk sometimes so I certainly
understand the "power of pain". Please forgive me for getting
the message all screwed up! I loves you moondancer!

I buy model aircraft kits, and the I usually keep the packaging. Some of it will not travel far, but is now temporary home to Christmas presents. So you might say it's having a rest.
Attached photo is something that arrived as a box of unpainted grey plastic bits, but now sits on a display shelf.

Memnon this is a beautiful airplane. Fine workmanship. I do the same thing with many boxes, I keep them to mail other things or for gifts. Boxes do come in handy many times. I can assure you they do not go to waste around my home.
I almost envy you for being able to do this. I use to do plane and cars and truck but my hands shake so much now and I have arthritis so these thing don't allow me to do the things I love doing anymore.
Thank you for sharing.

Thanks. I did have something a little more colourful to send, but I could not reduce the picture properties to fit on the site! It's a shame to lose a hobby/ activity to something 'medical'. I guess with these the issue will one day be eyesight.
In the meantime, my earnings from myLot will gradually build up the collection waiting for me in the loft once I have a little more time.
Below is a picture of what I was going to send- but the real thing.

The models that I am buying are becoming specialist(oh doesn't that sound snooty), but only because I have an interest in Italian aircraft, and most of the kits are no longer in production. Most people are into American, British, German and Japanese: I guess that's because they seen as major powers. Soviet models are actually quite abundant, but not so popular.
Models 4 you (I hate text lanuage)are a great site for models of all ranges, and their post is reasonable.
If you struggle finding something please let me know, and I will be glad to look at the places that I know.

Yes, she sends many things off as her business is growing everyday. She has found her natural nitch and will do well selling her things.
It's really a good thing too that she has so many good friends like you and others.

Hello vladuss. I hope you will respond with much more to say next time. You only make money here if you write a couple to a few lines or so.
Welcome to My Lot and I hope you like it here.
Please respond with more writing as this is the only way for us to get to know you and for you to make more friends here and this is an important thing for this site.
