I'm trying to plan a mini vacation for my husband and I. We're going to be celebrating our 10th anniversary and also my 40th birthday in the fall. We want to go away to celebrate these occasions to someplace nice but not too expensive. We're thinking about being away for about 4 nights. Anyone have any ideas for us?

Hi Cher! I would love to go to Niagara Falls. However, I would want to take the kids there so for now that will have to wait. I've been looking into Mexico, the caribbean and even parts of Florida. The price has to be reasonable though and I know just to fly to some of those places will cost a small fortune.

A cruise is always nice because it is all inclusive (food, etc) and you wouldn't need to worry about all of that. Since you have already taken a cruise, maybe you and your husband could go and spend a weekend in a villa or a resort somewhere. Have you thought about Costa Rica, Honduras, or Belize? Or even some of the islands like Jamaica, Bahamas or the Virgin Islands? I have heard that those are some nice places. Good luck and congratulations on your 10th anniversary and 40th birthday!

Those are some good ideas. I just need to do some research and see what the prices are.

how neat! no, not any idea, but the roommate's mom turns 70 around the first of September and the roomie turns 50 the middle of November, so her mom is taking her on a cruise at the end of September - that's pretty cool!

Congratulations on your 10th wedding anniversary. Anywhere will do as long as it is not within close proximity of the home as it is a celebration only for the two of you. Probably in a resort situated in a cold mountain. It is a nice place to refresh your love.

It doesn't need to be a special romantic place. Just a nice place for couples to go to and relax. Practical suggestions are welcome too.

To celebrate our tenth anniversary in four years, my husband and I are thinking about taking a 3-5 day cruise because neither of us have ever been on a cruise. Another idea that he and I would like to visit without my children is the mountains. We've also thought about taking a long weekend to Gatlinburg at some point because we both really like the mountains. Just a couple of suggestions for you and I hope that you and your husband have a wonderful time no matter where you decide to go.

That's a great idea for you and your husband. I think you'll really enjoy a cruise. We took our first cruise a few years ago and had a really nice time. It was a five day cruise which was long enough for a first cruise.
