Just as I shared from one of the discussions here, this years birthday of mine is the best and worst birthday as well. It is the worst because it is just like my ordinary days. Nothing new..nothing special. I had work on my birthday, my officemates didn't know it was my bday so we didn't really celebrated it at my office, We had our regular talk with my bf but it only went for like 1hour, After work I went to the church to pray and hear the mass, went home to rest afterwards, watched TV while waiting for my dad to arrive home, ate dinner with my family (I would say it wasn't a special dinner at all), talked with my siblings and then went to bed and oh, I forgot I read a verse in the bible for my bday. I felt sad realizing why my special day didn't turn out like it usually was. The good thing there is that it also made me realize that celebrating birthdays isn't that much important at all. I still thank the Lord for giving me another year and that im physically healthy, my family is in good condition, we're all happy and my lovelife is pretty much healthy, and that my life has never been this colorful than before. How about you, can you say that there is more happiness when you celebrate your birthdays with all the spending and stuff that just being happy within yourself? Do you think that it's more important to make your birthdays very special and not making it just like an ordinary day?

Hello gaiza12, Sounds like you had a blessed birthday. At least you remembered God. The blessing is that you woke up to live. :) However, I do understand how you feeling. God willing, next year make certain your co-workers know when your birthday is. When I worked in the Corporate World, my birthday was always a blast. When I taught middle school even the kids would sing. So get the word out. Do you take your friends out to lunch on their birthday? Boyfriends take you out to dinner. You must tell your husband a week in advance that your birthday is coming lol. Finally, whenever I thought that I had an okay birthday, my mother would always send me a beautiful card and gift. I would Thank God for Mother. Mothers never forget you. I think it is a balance. Be thankful for another year, and have fun!! :)

I have been working for 2 years at the company im working now and i make it a point that i celebrate it with them but this year since i went part time I they have forgotten my special day..anyway it's not a big deal actually (don't have the money to buy all something to share with :P). My bf made something for me, and i guess that was the only thing really special and cute for this year's bday of mine. And yes the good thing is I remember God every year and everyday that he has given me. Thanks for sharing

happy belated birthday gaiza12, for me i had a period of 5 years where my parents are too buzy to celebrate my bithday and also my birthday always lands on my exam dates so it is a no birthday plus studying day. but no matter what knowing the people around you care and love you is what most important. plus every year remembering your birthday is great but have anyone thought that on this day your mom suffer a lot to bring you to this world, therefore please thank her on this very day.

He just went into operation and we are still coping up from the financial problems we had. anyways..everything's good now and we are all happy. Thanks :)

Celebrating my birthday is a special occassion for me. It is not the abundance of food that represents the special celelbration. It is more of the thought and the blessings that I received for the past years that makes my birthday special.

Hi Gaiza, Well, welcome to the club..my birthday was last week. I didn't go to work...I stay in the house, fast and pray and sleep. I was so sad that time but i realized that its not the material thing preparation makes our birthday happy and memorable but its on how we celebrate it. I don't have anything special on the table that day. But I received birthday greetings from my family even 1 day before my bday. Some of them greeted me as early as 4 am....So, i was happy though i don't have any food preparation to celebrate......God bless you....I thanked God for another year of my LIFE

Another Leo here..hehe. Yes it's really not about the material things or the plenty of food at the table..I just realized this this year because every other birthdays of mine usually have presents and celebration and all. A lot of friends greeted me this year as well, so I know that no matter how we were separated by time, they still remembered to drop by my facebook account and greet me. There are really a lot more things to thank God for.. thanks for sharing. Happy mylotting

I also had my birthday this month. For a guy to celebrate his birthday is a big deal but I chose not to. My family and I started the day by going to church and hear the mass. After that we go to the mall to see a movie and eat our lunch just like what we do every weekend. I admit it is so different from my previous birthdays but I still enjoyed it because the good thing about it is that I started the day with God's blessings and nothing bits a good quality time with your family. I think that as we grow old our birthdays is not about us anymore unlike when we were kids but it is about how we give joy to our love ones.

I work early in the morning and my family are all busy with their jobs so I was the only one to go attend the mass. It's ok though..we're all still happy. :)

My birthday was yesterday. I spent the day with my kids. My 6 year old daughter was being a brat so it really didnt wind up being very fun. For the last 8 years my husband and I would go out to dinner with the kids (since they've been born). My husband and I split up about 8 months ago so I knew that wasent happening this year. While he and I were together I wasent allowed to go to bars so my father agreed to watch my sisters kids and my kids while we went to the bar in town. I got really drunk. We had a fun time although my ex was there to and that made my night less fun as he was bothering me and following me around. That was enough fun for the weekend. I was supposed to go out at night to see this guy but he wound up sick so we didnt get to hang out :( I spent the majority of my birthday cleaning. I did go to my parents house at 4 to have cake and ice cream and open my presents.

I just wish I could see my bday as a reflection day. You know, a bday means you have a year gone quietly. If there were no special day you would like to remember again and again, it is a tragdy, isn't it? You can't take in a travel time machine and go back to recorrect or redo what you feel sorry for. It must be a lucky guy when he/she has a memory to cherish even though he/she has an ordinary or many ordinary bdays.

My birthday too was just like any ordinary day. Any way I was happy and went for shopping. Shopping always makes me happy.
