when your ratings in interests are going up but star ratings going down?

I have experienced that just today. My star rating went from blue(10) to red(9) now. Maybe some or a number of people rated my posts as negative even though I'm seeing my interest ratings go up. Kinda weird huh? But we should not be discouraged. Just keep on posting and sooner or later, we'll get not only our interest ratings up but as well as our star ratings too,. Best of luck

The rating numbers written inside the star are actually how other users rate you. If they rate you negative, then your rating go downward. It is called reputation rating. The discussion rating, however, depends on the number of responses or posts you made. It is a bit complicated. You don't get rating if your response is deleted for any reason. I believe that interest rankings depend on the number of posts and discussions created, and maybe best responses received.As for star,I don't know who decides the color of the star, must be users, or admin, well, I'm not sure.I've noticed that some users even manage to lose their star.I think it's because they often enter "the forbidden zone":Religion and Politics.People are very strict when it comes to belief or politics.Don't worry, you don't have army of enemies, your star wouldn't be red if you had them.

Hi nina_khan, Your inactivity doesn't have to do anything with your reputation. As far as i can say, i think your interest ranking might be going up in a few interests but as on an overall, your ratings are coming down, meaning you are being rated negative in a specific interest category. You will need to go check where you are being hit. Good luck.

I am stuck with this yellow star for weeks now! Weird. I have posted lots of discussions and answered so many lately but still it wouldn't go red. Some people will put (-) if your thinking is not the same as theirs!!
