Do really sleep at least 8 hours a day?

Lately, I've been making sure to get at least 8 hours of sleep a day. And it's doing me good. How about you?

hello there,well,i really don't know exactly,how many hours do i sleep.but most of the time,i guess it would be around 6-9 hours of sleep.depends on my mood f i want to wake up early or late.besides i have nothing much to worry about.not unless i planned to do many things around in the day.i would really wake up early,or i have to go somewhere,that's when i'll wake up early.

That sounds just great. Atleast you don't get all the pressures of running around. Like those who are so busy with many stuffs. And doesn't enough time to enjoy the sacredness of a good sleep. Enjoy life!!!

yes,it's much more relaxing if one have not much thing in their minds.it gives stress and when it comes to sleeping they hardly had not much time on it,when in fact,all people should have enough sleep to energize the following day. having not much sleep can cause headaches and not properly focusing on things they should face that day.we all need sleep.but there are really times we have to wake up or stay awake just to do some important things in life.

That is so true! I know because it happens to me when I'm lack of sleep. I run around like a zombie. My head feels so light. And I feel like I could pass out any time... So, basically I've learned the lesson of sleeping in enough time the hard way..

I average about six hours a day. Although I realize I need more, there are just not enough hours in the day to do all I want to accomplish.

Yeah.. It's really sad that some people are lacking time each day that they tend to squeeze their sleeping schedules as well.. I hope you will be able to get enough sleep soon!!!

Ohwww! How about reducing your finances so you don't have to worry anymore? Just a suggestion my friend. Perhaps you have some bills that aren't that important.

I agree we are scampering everyday to try and earn another buck as well finances have not improved so I am still not sleeping enough, rather more like worrying more.

I sleep generally around 8-10 depending how I was the night before, as sometimes I struggle to get to sleep due to having thoughts on my mind. I enjoy my sleep, so I try to sleep for at least the recommended amount of time and once awake I like to be able to stay active, as I hate being tired during the day. When I sleep for only a few hours, I wake up feeling very unwell. I try to avoid this as much as possible.

I feel just like that! I really hate it when I have to be awake for the whole day and feeling so tired all day! There were times that I really experienced the effectiveness of having enough sleep. It makes me feel so active and energized til the end of the day.

Well, there's not much that I can really do...but I sometimes wonder if we as a human race, need more and more sleep, the more the Earth changes? My co-worker said he needs 10 hrs a night to feel "right".

i dont sleep 8 hours a day^^ i guess that normally i sleep 7 hours a day more or less^^ but thats enough for me^^ i dont like to sleep too many hours^^ but 8 hours is what people should sleep yes^^ but for adults if you sleep only 7 hours is ok also^^ but for teenagers they should sleep or 8 or 9 hours to be more healthy^^ my teacher said that teenagers that sleep less than that become nervous when adults. so the best really is you sleep 8 hours^^ thats a good time doesnt matter if you are an adult or a teenager^^

I think you're right, but if we can count aspirine and painkillers as a medicine. I know a few years back I was barely ever sick, but now I think even if you're healthy as a fish there'll still come time every once in awhile you'll have to take a medicine. A few people may be lucky tho to be healthy and not have to take any meds.

Hi, invisblelady. I try to get as much as eight hours at night. My three year old daughter, constantly wakes me up out of my sleep crying and whining. So, I am unable to get all my eight hours of sleep.

I do try to sleep 8 hours a night. Sometimes, it's not always easy to actually get 8 hours a night.

That is true! If we don't get enough sleep, we tend to be sleepy all the time thus making us not doing our best in what we do.

I really need 8 hours of sleep a day to feel good. If I don't sleep 8 hours,I feel tired. But there are people who need less hours of sleep. It depends on their organism, it's in the genes, I think. It also depends on the age.

For the past few months, I cannot complete the 8-hour sleep that I used to have. Now that I have completed my training in the hospital and I am still waiting on when to be called, I will make sure that I can complete my rest periods. I've been so stressed out lately and it's time for me to relax.

I try to get 8 or 8+ hours a day if I can, but sometimes I can't and when I wake up sleeping only 5 hours or so I tell you, I literally feel like zombiewalking lol really, I have this strange sleepy feeling and I'm tired and cranky at the same time.

I also have a problem of getting the 8 hour sleep sometimes. But if you get used to it, it will be just like a normal daily routine. The problem is when sometimes you have to wake up earlier than usual because of some important tasks to be done. That's when my whole body clock messes up.

I try to get around 7 or 8 hours of sleep each night. If not, I am not a happy camper when I get up and my body just doesn't want to get up if I don't get enough sleep. I have a better day when I get the needed sleep that my body wants.

The only time I sleep 8 hours is when I am ill. A "good night sleep" for me is 6 hours. I have done well on 3 hours of sleep too!

I notice that when I do not get enough sleep, not only am I tired but I am also irritable, get more headcaches and sometimes lightheaded. Right now I am dealing with these chronic headaches and no lack of sleep is a contributing factor on top of the stress I am dealing with.

I always try to get in 8 hours of sleep but unfortunately recently I have been waking up a lot sooner before I get to 8 hours. And it is a very irregular pattern which irritates me a lot cos I can't go back to sleep once I have waken up already. On those days I'm lucky if I can dodge the headache part of the hassle and just deal with my tiredness and grumpiness lol. Well the grumpy part other people have to deal with not so much me. Nifty topic! Sleep is very important to the human mind and body and glad you brought it up. ++!

LOL!!! I get grumpy when I'm lack of sleep! I really noticed that!!! So I try to get enough if I can... I have the same problem, too. Sometimes I wake up in midnight and it's hard for me to get back to sleep again...

yep!! in times like this when i don't have a job... i get all the luxury of sleeping that i couldn't get when i have a job... i sleep early and wake up late.. do mylot discussions and take a lot of naps in between while checking out for online job opportunities... it' boring but this is the best that i could have as of the moment..=)

I can pretty much relate with you!! I stay at home and writing stuffs on internet is what I do... Well, it's alright with me... I get to enjoy every minute of my life now than when I'm employed on companies...
