What is it about SpongeBob

That makes people enjoy the show, both young and old?
For me it's funny, but then I've always liked cartoons, although I do prefer anime since it has a continuous story arc... whereas shows like SpongeBob SquarePants do not, but I still love the spongy bugger.
His friend Patrick can be annoying though, more so than SpongeBob... at least when he gets anything like power or a nose... but he still remains SpongeBob's best-friend...

Spongebob is one of my favorite show on tv. And as an adult I do really enjoy this show. For me though, it is not for kids sometimes 'cause it has some negative message for them like for example mr. krub as a greedy character. But will it think it is a PG show so parents may just guide their kids while watching.

You can use Mr. Krabs to talk to your child though, say "Is money really the most important thing?" for example...

Spongebob is witty, funny and just down right entertaining. The characters are great and very unique. Patrick is actually my fave, he's hilarious.

Indeed he is hilarious, but sometimes I find him annoying. Not always though, just in a few episodes. Like when he was declared the King... or when his 'parents' were coming to visit him.

I love Spongebob! It also makes me wonder what is it about him that makes me love him and I guess it is because he brings the kid out in me and as adults, we all secretly wish to be silly and release our inhibitions just like Spongebob. I find Patrick to be adorable also. His naivete is so classic!

I think Spongebob can open up a discussion about friendship and hard work with your child. He sticks by people even forgiving Sqidward constantly, another good lesson. And he's a hard worker. Plus, it's just silly fun.
