What is your Idea of an Inappropriate Church Clothes?

I believe wearing appropriate clothes when going to church is a must to all and it should be thought in a common sense that we are going to church, and not to any places or any party, and that we should dress up appropriately. Wearing clothes that attracts other church goer's attention doesn't look good in the eyes of many. And in my opinion, those who dare to wear those kind of pieces you've mentioned don't deserve to enter a sacred place like the church. Appropriate church dress for me doesn't have to be a long dress, or a formal skirt, neither a slacks, nor a long-sleeved polo.. Dresses are proper as long as they don't expose too much of the body which will only cause to catch the attention of other people inside the church. I think jeans are okay to wear for men and women..As long as they look proper and clean, and not too over accessorized and too arriving.. Catholicism I guess are the most lenient when compared to other religions such as Iglesia ni Cristo, Jehovah's Wtness etc.

i hear what people are saying but in my church you can wear what you wish from suits and dresses to t shirts with pictures to jeans because it is a matter of free will and your worship is what is important not if you are wearing 'your best'.having said that most people show enough respect for the church to dress in comfy clothes that do not show too much skin but i would rather have this than churches who expect the poshest clothes and hats to be worn or you are made to feel unwelcome. afterall we came into this world naked and will return to the 'summerland' the same way.

I think it is okay for the Church to implement rules on "Church clothes" because some people are wearing inappropriate clothes. Like last Sunday, I went to the church and I saw a woman wearing "lace clothes" I really don't know what to call it. But a person goes to Church to be one with God and not to flirt at people and make them commit sins. People are at church to ask for forgiveness, to lessen the guilt and not to commit more just because they saw someone wore something inappropriate.

for me,the inappropriate church clothes are: 1. sleeveless tops 2. tube tops 3. mini skirt 4. mini dresses 5. low necklines 6. backless tops 7. shorts 8. tank tops 9. ripped jeans

My idea of inappropriate church clothes is mini skirt and dresses that don't at least hit the knee or longer and also very low cut shirts. I think if it is to tasteless the preacher should approach that person and tell them nicely they need to wear more decent type clothing or not bother coming back.

When a church is formed without a 'uniformic' sense attached to its inception, I mean a Legalistic dress code so to say, practically all of us would recognise that some kinds of attire are appropriate than others for Church. To a certain extent,our attire in church reflects our attitude towards the significance of cooperate worship if there is something like that...for what is worth though, it seems to me that in less affluent cultures,people are usually more inclined seeing the church service as an occasion to wear one's best cloth. What do you think the Bible says on dressing?

Booty shorts or Daisy Dukes, spaghetti strap shirt, shirts that show cleavage, and leather outfits that make you look like a dominatrix.

We should show respect in our clothing choices in church. Nobody wants to be embarrassed by what you wear. Clothes that show too much of your skin are not good choices. Who wants to see someone have half dressed at church. It makes you wonder why someone would wear something so unappropriate to church.

All trndy clothes these days that some women usually likes to wear, those clothes that are really revealing and clothes that doesnt hide what's suppose to be hidden, are inappropriate.

I think anything is fine as long as it is acceptable in your community. Girls can wear short shorts or plunging neckline, etc if they want. Its not their fault if some guy look at them and think of something inappropriate. These guys should not go to the church in the first place. The worst clothes I have seen in the church is a girl wearing short shorts and sleeveless shirt. I haven't seen someone wearing plunging neckline. But this is me. So I'll just advise girls to be more considerate to other church goers and their family.

My idea of inappropriate Church Clothes are clothes that are revealing. example mini skirts that come jus below the buttom see threw shirt or showing alot of cleveage. Jeans shorts or T-Shirts. But you want to keep in mind some people cant afford to buy clothes for Church so they wear what they have. God says come as you are.

Totally had this problem this past sunday. I understand God doesn't judge and neither should I but I think its the principal. And you should have some decency to cover your butt checks. No joke 2 girls about 16 came to church in the shortest shorts i've ever seen, you don't even wear that out about hanging out with your friends. I was so confused and wondering where their parents were?? It was quite a sight and wasn't right I don't understand how they even felt comfortable in shorts that short! It was a ashame when they make such cute dresses and things for people to wear that are classy and tasteful. Leave the trash behind. puhleaseee.
