Yes, I certainly do say "thank you" to express my appreciation of the help some one gave me. The good will and the generosity is behind the action when some one did me a favor, and I certainly must in return express my gratitude. "Thank you" is atleast the way to express the appreciation.
Thank you !

Hi Mai200725,
"Thank you" is a powerful magic phrase. When you say "thank you" to people who are not as willing to be of service to you, you find that they change attitudes almost immediately and a smile is more likely, even more so if you say that to people who are willingly open to help you in anyway they can. A "thank you" boosts a person's esteem and self-worth and hearing that gives anyone the enthusiasm and drive to do more for others.
My personal view is that a "thank you" phrase is worth a thousand words and anyone who hears such words would be more willing to go out of their way to serve even better every time because they know their efforts are being appreciated be it big or small. I, myself am very generous at uttering these power words whenever I ask favor or anything from others, even if I didn't get any positive response.
Since it is not that hard to say, people should be generous at saying these words especially to people from whom they receive graces and blessing or just even a very small favor or simple answers to simple questions.
Have a nice day.

I'm a sucker for these words. It may be ordinary words but its powerful enough to convey our gratitude. I was brought up to appreciate people around me and I never failed to thank them, for their presence alone in my life makes me thankful to them. I think life would be sooooo much better and enjoyable if only people will learn how to say this simple yet meaningful words. Thank you Mai :)

I think "thank-yous" are necessary, this shows appreciation for a favor or something nice that was done. Saying thank you is a form of gratitude. If someone doesn't say thank you, many people take that as a form of rudeness or disrespect because when someone does something nice for you, you owe them gratitude and saying thank you is just. Saying thank you shows that you don't expect people's kindness, but are grateful for it when it crosses your path.

Yes I do say thank you when some one does me a favor. I think its the very least I can do for them and thats all you can ask for if you do something nice its good to show a little gratitude torwards the person by thanking them. Its not that hard to thank some one and people that dont well are just rude.
