Online social networks have speedily expanded in popularity, particularly over the past couple of years. It's often advertised that your social networking profile is the key to making and finding friends online. But my question is what not to put in your social network profile?

I would never put my address or phone number online. I do not even put the city I live in sometimes. Instead I will put the closest major city.

Basically it will be information that you do not want to share. Credit card number, ID, etc etc. All things that is meant to be confidential should never ever be placed on any website, let alone facebook.

Well I think you should not write all your personal information. Like address, because there is a case in my country that he put his address in his face book account and he was robbed in his own house. Then you should not put your mobile numbers because many people will send you messages and that is annoying specially if they are strangers. I'm very cautious about giving personal information because I experienced unknown callers. That is why I changed my phone number. I've really learned my lesson.

When creating a profile, we should NOT put our email address there to be seen by people who pass by our profiles because the scammers will just send you spam and junk mails. they will even add you up in the messenger and will just be prone to cam girls or cam boys who will just send you links and they are also pretty annoying if you just tend to ignore them. unless you delete them and press the ignore button. Have a great day.

My personal opinion on profiles for social networks is...if you wouldnt want someone to find out about it then you shouldnt post it...either in a comment or directly on your profile. If it could affect you getting or keeping a job...dont post it. I personally wont put my full name on most networks...my address, my phone number, my email address, my birth year is generally not publicly posted. I know people on facebook who post everything about their lives then wonder how people they rarely talk to (but have as friends on facebook) know so much about them... I dont think people should post photos of other peoples kids without permission.
