if you are using mozilla firefox, i would suggest you install this software called "DownloadHelper". This is a free Firefox extension for downloading and converting videos from many sites with less effort. i have been using this add-on for years now. you can try this one. here is the link to their website. http://www.downloadhelper.net/

oh your looking for a good converter.. i got one here and its called format factory.. its a free software that i downloaded at the internet, just seach for format factory.. it is a good one because it had all the conversion that i neeed e.g. avi to mpeg..just look for it, its awesome!

I think Any Video Converter will work but it can be very slow. The one you should get is Pazera Free FLV to AVI Converter which is free and you should be able to find it with a search. It works well and is fairly fast.

I have a software I downloaded called AnyVideoConverter. I am not sure if this software does flv or not, but I converted .dat to mpeg. And I use youtubedownloader for videos that I downloaded from youtube, which I believe is flv.
