Do you know anything about this?
I'm hoping there is an attorney or two here that can answer this discussion.
I know someone that has been married for a few months and his "wife" waited for him to get his pay check after a couple of weeks and she took off. She stole a truck and left.
They got married in Alabama and he now lives in Tennessee, she was living in Mississippi.
Can he get an annulment in Tennessee?
Also he has found that when looking it up that he can get an online annulment or divorce.
I need to know if anyone has done this or knows of someone that has? Is it legit.
He is wanting to know this so he can do it if it is.
Thank you for any help I can tell him.

This is so sad. I am so sorry for the man. I really do not know but would not do it unless I got advice from experts

It's sad to say but many experts only tell you what you need to hear to get them and nothing else and they many times charge way too much.
It is a bad situation.
The girl took his bank card and his com-data card which is where his pay from work goes each week and she has been draining him dry.
He finally got a stop put to all of that. He had a check last week that she did not get and from now on she won't get them.
She's bad news. Really bad news, I pity the next guy she gets.

hi moondancer I think the quickest way would be to call an attorney that you ,may know and just ask him your questions as he cannot charge you for just that. then you will know how to go about the online divorce proceedings. i am sure in this modern age that an online divorce would surely be legitimate as we can conduct most any kind of business online
now. Hope others will have more input for you.

I feel the same way as you do. He should be able to do this online with an attorney. He is just leary and wants to know if they are legit before he puts out the money.
She had cleaned him out and he is starting all over with having money in the bank and all.

I don't know about online attorney's..I do know that you can get a divorce if you were in another state..You can call any attorney and get advise and it does not cost anything..I don't know if you can get an annulment after being married a while or not..I was married in Michigan and I got a divorce in Mississippi..The attorney got in touch with my husband who had moved back to New York where he was from and he objected so then it was ran in the local paper for so many weeks..After that I got my divorce..You can get a divorce in another state from where you was married if you do it that way..
I would not trust getting an annulment or divorce online if I was you..It does not cost anything to get advise from an attorney and he/she can tell you the best way to do things.. Blessings to you..Love you...
Another thing he should be able to get his truck back,I would think since it was his before he was married..The attorney will be able to tell you..

He did talk to an attorney and the man wants a small fortune. He knows she will contest it just to be mean and it will cost him about $2000 or more. The ones online ant a lot less. I was even told that all he has to do is go to the state they got married and go to the court house and pay about $100. but then that is a trip down there that will cost over $200 in gas.
And he can not get any time off from work or he will lose his job. They won't even let anyone lose 1 day here or they lose their job. Too many people in line to take his place.
So he is trying to get it the best way he can without it costing a lot or losing his job.
The attorney told him he would get his truck back when he got the annulment that as long as they are married she has just as much right to it as he does, property is 50/50.

As a UK citizen I can't offer much on this. I have only encountered one on line legal rep. They were not much help, which must sound disappointing since I no longer have the details.
I would be tempted to contact a practice that operates from a regular office, which also has a web site. Instinct tells me that they will need a face to face with your friend irrespective. Good luck with this.
