There are alot of people that do not change their diet, they seem to change their drinking habits,as that way they also lose the weight.A friend of mine drinks alot of water rather than anything else if she wants to lose weight. She also adds a bit of fresh squeezed lemon to the water as that way the water has a taste and the lemon is also good for you.

I don't have any die hard tips, but I know if you shave off a few calories here and there while increasing activity levels you should be able to lose a few pounds. One thing is you can add some weight training that burns good calories. Also running is a good way to shed pounds quickly. Just be careful to not injure yourself by over training!

Part of your weight could be excess water so I recommend increasing your water intake. Try to eats lots of vegetables and lean meat. Cut out the sweets and the sodas if you drink them. Also try to eat healthy snacks between meals. This may help you not overeat when you do eat a meal.

If you wanna lose weight the natural, safe and effective way, then you must try taking in natural food supplements like Spirulina. It's a green algae, and it's very nutritious, and it contains an amino acid called "Phenylalanine", which is good for suppressing one's appetite, while the other nutrients in Spirulina nourish your body. You will lose weight without starving your body of vital nutrients.

Eat less, exercise more. It's that simple. Cut out any soda/candy/processed sugar you may eat. Switch from white rice, white pasta, and white bread to brown rice, whole wheat pasta, and whole wheat bread. Choose lower calorie dressings and dips. Try to cook for yourself as much as possible, so cut out processed foods and snacks. Try to stick to the produce aisle at the grocery store, and replace some of your meat-based protein with beans or low-fat tofu (tofu is not something to be scared of, it soaks up marinades extremely well and is capable of many different textures. I can point you in the way of some good, low calorie tofu recipes if you're interested.)
It's a matter of common sense really. Oils, meats, and most dairy are high in fat and calories, so if they are staples in your culture, try looking for some lower-calorie alternatives. That way you can still have your favorite foods, but a healthier version of it.
