Before facebook there was friendster (Well there is still friendster) But now it seems everyone moved to facebook. I only open mine about once a month, and I am surprised that there are still a few people who actually updates it. Do you have a friendster account? If you do, do you still open it? Or update it?

I have plans for my Friendster account because they have a WordPress blog that I can use. As a blogger, I'm always on the lookout for web services like this especially now that I'm focusing on creating backlinks and generating traffic to my primary blogs.
Anyway, I'm still stuck preparing my BlogSpot blogs so I'll just let my Friendster blog age some more before I start posting. I think Friendster will still survive in spite of members migrating to Facebook. I like its name and personally, I think it has a better name than other social networks.

Yup. I agree. Facebook is an unusual choice for a name and it doesn't seem to be compelling. But they have a better technology. When I first saw Facebook at the height of the popularity of Friendster, I was telling people that Facebook will become something big.

When I first heard of facebook, I thought "what the heck is FACE BOOK"? Up to now I still don't know why they called it facebook.

No, I don't have a friendster account. I have never even seen the site. I got on Facebook about a year ago. I guess I was late getting there. I always thought it was stupid, until I actually checked it out. Now, I am addicted! lol! I think it's a great way to stay in touch with friends and family. I wonder if something will take it's place in the future..

Hello damned,
Friendster is almost a decade old, being in the internet for almost eight years, i first heard about this i thought it was another form of network marketing. but one year later i decided to join and it was really fun to begin with. but i was more on to the adding thing, but it changed when i joined mylot, and then no choice i decided to tag along with facebook, which was fun too, for a while that is.

I still have my friendster account. I only open it when I feel like it. Which is probably like you, once a month. I don't update it anymore because I feel no on would really care much or notice if it gets updated. Although I post shoutouts there that I'm comfortable if only a few people will read (in FB everybody will read your shoutout). In comparison, I open my facebook account everyday. I don't even bother to log out since checking it is one of the first things I do when I wake up and the last thing I do before sleeping. Addict much? LOL! It's just that FB is more user friendly. Now that more people are into it, it's more active there than FS. Hence, much more fun. I feel FS should start making changes in their functionality if they want to survive in the social networking world.

I have lots of friendster accounts before. My oldest account was created back in 2002 even. I guess people just got bored with friendster and got instantly hooked and attracted to facebook especially because of the hundreds and thousands of apps and games available in facebook. Those games such as farmville, fishville, etc. are addicting.. As for friendster, the original owner knowing that they're traffic is gradually decreasing sold it to another company which is the current owner now. Even with how friendster overhauled their site and with how they started their app collection, I still choose facebook over them. I still do have a friendster account and just like you, I open it when I remember opening it. It may not happen once in a month but it still happens like 3 times or more a year. :)

When I have been regular in my facebook, I left my friendster without checking on it for couple of months.
When I came back, it had many changes already that it's so hard to keep track of them.
It's like starting FS all over again. I think I would never use my FS. I haven't been checking on it for a while now.

elow! Yes i still have my friendster account but i too rarely open it. In fact i don't update it anymore. I just open it to check if someone has posted something or sent me a message perhaps, but nothings really new. All new posts are just status like add me up in facebook. Friendster is just like old school now..

I actually had a friendster account but I already deleted it because I didn't update it anymore, though I had a lot of friends there too but I find it boring compared to facebook. Since I had a facebook, I have only opened my friendster for 1 to 2 times in 2-3 months. That's why I decided to terminate it since I can no longer manage it in the future.

I canceled my friendster account ever since I moved to facebook. There just wasn't much to do there. And besides, I love facebook games, it's just very addictive.

Hi! Friendster is too Jurassic, lol. I've deleted my account there 2 years ago. Same with Myspace and Multiply. I still have my Facebook though, but all my relatives are there so, I'm barely there. Now, It's MyLot and MyPage5. Blogspot is also becoming a legend when it comes to Blogging the 'in' thing now is Wordpress. . Happy MyLotting!

I have a friendster account but I don't visit it anymore. I have about 500 friends there. My last visit was January of this year, to check and copy some of my old photos. A lot of my friends there are still active even though they already have facebook accounts.

Didn't Friendster have a thing where it went and sent out requests to everyone in your contacts list whether you wanted it to or not? It seems I got an invitation to join Friendster from someone I knew and it turned out he barely knew what it was and certainly hadn't sent requests out. To me that's pretty shady.

friendster is now a legend. its like a toy made of plastic, its still there even many years have passed. Well, Friendster is the original social networking site which allows the user to post their pictures, add friends and customization of profiles. well... the only thing that makes facebook more usefull is chat.
but speaking of which site have more security, I go with friendster. because many people (I know) have been their life destroyed by using facebook, by means of pictures being uploaded by someone and tagged others which unnoticely theres a thing which we must not see, and other things.
