i remember my mother wanted me to be one of those tradition girls when she isn't even one herself she's feminine but i am not, i hang out more with my dad and male cousins.i hate the idea of being told on what hair style should i get. i wish to have different cuts and hairstyles every year.my main reason for that is i don't age back so i wanna enjoy hairstyles as i am still in my right age to look great. what's your side on this?

My mom doesn't really insist on any hairstyle that we can have in the family. She would have reactions for the hairstyles that we have but, that's about it. I guess my mom doesn't really mind what kind of hair style we would want. If that's what we want, I guess she just goes along with it. Perhaps she has her own opinions like, she agrees or not at all but, she might be just keeping all of those thoughts to herself until someone asks.
In my case, I really don't mind having different hairstyles. If I feel like having a hair cut, I'll just have one. Perhaps my hair has grown too long or I just don't like the look that I have with the style my hair has but, one thing is for sure, I would often have my mom cut my hair (^_^")

I’m always with you on this… I too disliked it very much when my mom imposed her idea of hair styling on me. though my idea differs from yours (I’ve always like long hair)…but our problems remain the same. I remember since my childhood, she’s always wanted me to keep short cropped hair which according to her, made me look smarter. I, on the other hand, always preferred long hair which could be styled whichever way I wanted. Of course I had to give in to her when I was small, but during my teenage years, there was a lot of problem over this…she would insist that I cut my hair short while I would insist on growing it and styling it (she thought that too much styling would take my mind off studies)

Dear friend,
I am a male, my mum usually tell to cut when she see my hair is too shabby. But during my college days I used to keep a ponky type hair, later shorted it when my mum compelled me. Now I do have a normal type of hair cut. So my mum hardly wants my hair cut.

When i was young, my mom always ask the barber to cut my hair as short as those military traineer crew cut , as short as almost like a monk , but still got baby hair.So the barber just use the cropper can crop the hair short. Because it is more economical and also prevent parasite bugs and such.Cooling also since it is hot weather here.Nowsday i still prefer my hair to be short and no need to comb.More conveient for me and also save shampoo.I hate long hairs.

My mom wasn't the one who cut my hair or dealt with it, atleast as far as I can remember. I remember my grandmother doing most of the hair cutting for her grandchildren, atleast when it came to my sibilings. I remember a particular butch haircut she gave me and this was before my second grade ( I believe it was ) pictures. I remember her taking me to get my hair cut from then on, or close to then on. I don't remember if I just didn't trust her after that or what.
She was much better with men's hair because well she could shave that right off!
Her own hair, I remember one time she used bleach to dye it and it turned out an orangeish yellow!

I can't take sides about that but when my daughter wanted to get her hair done I always said it's o.k. as long it suits her I know we all try some thing new so I guess I am on your side,I know when I was younger my mom use to have my hair cut really short I love long hair but even in my teens she said no way it didn't suit me I got extences added on and alot of my frinds like my hair better that way
So go for what you like"

I had the same haircut for 20 years now. i don't like going to the hair salon so I just trim it every so often. I would like to try a new style but my hair doesn't grow as it is so I'm afraid if I cut it short and don't like it I'm screwed.
My mom on the other hand gets her hair done every other week

My mom never understood my hair. My hair was curly, hers was straight. So for years I've tried fitting hairstyles for straight hair that simply just wont work on curly hair. My mom insisted on single length hair, or bob cut hair that poofed up my mane for years. I've only discovered in college that layers were finally the answer in getting my hair fall around my face right. Though I couldn't really blame her, part of me wistfully says that I could have prevented all my teenage hair angst if I experimented a bit more differently from her opinions.
So my opinion with regard to your discussion is that, hey... as long as you absolutely know what your doing, and that you can carry it well, it's your hair. The good thing about doing your own styles is that you can actually explore what looks best on you rather than getting the same old cut and wondering what you would probably have looked like with a different one.

Im a guy and my dad would always tell me to cut it , but my mom would never want me too! I had to cut it because I had debate tournaments( ha totally sound nerdy) and i wanted to look professional. She would hate my hair if it was short and really liked it long. I think she wished she had a girl ha , but yep
