Hostage Taking Going On Right Now

There is a live hostage taking happening right now. I do not know the full story why this soldier took a whole tourist bus hostage. What triggered him we don't know? We heard shots inside the tour bus perhaps he had been killing the hostages already. Help pray for the safety of the rest of the hostages. God this is horrible, there are no movements inside the bus. The bus driver was able to escape but as of now there is a complete news block to interview the bus driver as of now.

he was a dismissed police officer who said that he was not given due process. It was said that he will be retired in a year and because he was dismissed, no benefits will be given to him. He was demanding that he will be reinstated into service. As of now the assault team is still trying to break into the bus...let us pray that the hostages are all safe..however, no movements were observed from them even tear gas were thrown...this hostage situation maybe the worse that I have ever seen...

From these actions I can understand why he was dismissed. Although it is sad that he wouldn't get any benefits.

Oh what a horrible thing to be hearing. Why oh why do people do this..there just is no feeling anymore for human lives. If you want to kill yourself, then go ahead, but leave the rest of the world alone. Why do they have to take so many other lives with them. I'm guessing that he'll kill himself or the police will shoot him. That's just sickening and I'm glad the bus driver is safe at least. Keep us informed.

when someone is so desperate we don't know what goes inside their minds. As of now the Swat team was able to break through the bus but no hostages being taken out. No news yet if the hostage is still alive of killed himself as well.

The drama is over. But the struggle for the bereaved family(families, both the suspect and the victims)had just begun. This is another sad story,so many lives wasted after the bus accident that killed 40 people last week, now here again wasted life story. And what the .....those bystanders were up to,they were even the first people to run and reach the bus instead of giving way to the medics . I don't know what to say more my heart breaks

As much as we scorn the hostage taker his family needs the support of the public as well. They were dragged into this shameful situation and it could be emotionally, physically and spiritually taxing to them as well. Would they want this to happen? I bet not. They have tried all they can to stop it but then the hostage taker was no longer thinking straight. Had they put a negotiator in swiftly he would have not killed the hostages there when he snapped.

It is so sad ... the outcome of the hostage taking... we were hoping for a different result... but when they showed the relatives being forced in the custody of the police ... I new bad things will follow... Still those people there need more training with regards to the same incident.... it's sad to say that its badly handled by those in charge...

Well, it seemed that there were live hostages that were set free. i believe this could have been avoided if there was a negotiator. some are alive. i believe there's still corruption going on the PNP but this person was also a victim of it. but that does not excuse him for killing hostages.

There is no excuse at all for doing that whether if he was a victim too. He could have gone to other government agencies to get a fair trial for his case but not like this. I think he is very desperate and when you are in that situation most of the time you won't be able to think straight. If you get bad advice from friends it could make things worse!

The hostage-taker is still alive and the most recent gunfires is assumed to be from an automatic rifle because the hostage taker is known to have been heavily armed, maybe long rifles. And there is one individual who was hit by a stray bullet from the recent gunfire.

The cops who tried to get in, ran out because there have been gunshots and so they started to get out quickly.

Yes a stray bullet hit a civilian. What I would like to know is that were the police officers who went inside the bus still alive? there is no news if the police officers made it back outside before or after the gunshots were fired inside the bus.

I see ....right now there had been a rapid gunfire and the sniper said he was able to fire at the hostage and he is gone. What's ticking me off is the civilians trying to get near the bus! They are making it hard for the officers and first aid team to do their job! Quite irritating!

I've seen it, and still on going. May be the hostage taker has a real reason why he did it. But, it's sad on the side of the tourist to have unforgettable and traumatic experience in the Philippines. We are still keeping our fingers cross that the remaining 15 hostages are still alive.

There is never a hostage situation that doesn't concern me deeply. I don't really know anything about this situation, but I imagine for those that were near the situation was taking place and also for those that knew people on the bus that this was a very distressing situation. I couldn't imagine to have to go through something like this myself.

I remember that story however the goal of that guy was to just be heard not to kill the children but this one is different though. he was more agitated when his brother was apprehended and brought to the police station. I hope there are still people alive inside the bus.

This is just awful. I can understand why he would have been upset, but no matter what you are upset about violence against others is never the answer. Where is this happening, I did not hear about it yet. Did anyone survive?

Oh this is in the Philippines. I do agree with you even if he is upset it is not reason enough to go beyond this far.
