would you kill just to get your job back?

i was sickened with what i saw on the news
a police man had taken a bus load of chinese tourists hostage and he was asking for him to be reinstated as a police officer
rolando mendoza was an outstanding police officer until he got involved in an extortion scandal
he fell from grace and was kicked out of the force
did he really think he'd be granted another shot at having a badge by kidnapping and hostage taking?
if you had lost your job, would you do this kind of thing?
endanger people just to have your selfish needs fulfilled?
sheesh, i'd move on to better things

I would never do that because I know that even if you get your job back people would think of you differently, People higher than you would not give you any awards or promotions because they know that you have that job because you killed someone.

This is ridiculous! Now, an ex-cop is going to go to prison, I bet he'll have an interesting life. Was he actually stupid enough to think they'd rehire him after this display of insanity? Why didn't he just try to get a job in another department, or as a security guard or an EMT. Not the same thing, I realize, but at least he's still helping people. I love writing, but I would shoot anyone who fired me. I would just find a better place for my material.

That was definitely an extreme course of action that this former police officer chose to take and as sad as it is, it's right that he lost his life as he had taken the life of others, totally innocent people. I guess he wasn't thinking straight and he was obviously quite desperate! It's easier to say this but he should just have accepted the decision and got on with living his life.
There's no telling what people may or may not do when they are placed in a position of desperation. It's just a good thing that it's all over now although serious questions will be asked regarding how the police handled the hostage situation! The police definitely could have handled things a whole lot better in my view I mean, where were the swat team? Where was the hostage negotiater? These things will have to be taken into account. No way! I didn't like my last jobs, and I wouldn't kill to have them back.
If I could find a new, better job, that pays well, that is what I am looking for.

He is despirate already that is why he made the wrong way of being heard by the authorities. There's a way that no need to destroy his reputation and dignity. Because of his doing he was shot by the SWAT team and he also make other poples life misarable which wrong. I didn't admire this act instead I condemn it. I hope this is learnings to anybody who plan to make such despirate act.
Our country now will face a challenge specially our tourism. This is a problem that our new elected officials will fight and solve it soonest possible so that our economy will not drop down.
I saw the news on CNN this morning while having my mixed breakfast and lunch and I was shocked because I know it will affect our country and the people living on it.

I am with you there. Why would you want to get a job which you claimed has brought you a lot of pain? Move on. It's not the end of the world while you try to get justice from the court if you really feel that you were victimized. The Office of the Ombudsman is not the final stop. If you were an outstanding policeman then there would be other jobs with higher pay that he can get. I was thinking the same thing that you were thinking - did he really expect to get the job back and people will forget what he did? It is a sign also that the police do not train their people to handle stress well.

As desperate as I am these days for a job and income I do not believe I could ever harm innocent people in the process. I am the type that I rather die of hunger than intentionally injure to get my needs.
The guy had to have lost his marbles and am sure most in his situation while faced in court trials will use this as a defense.

I've never been violent all my life.., and if what happened to him will happen to me..(God Forbids).., I cannot afford to take away live of innocent people just to get even or to get what I want or let the superiors see that you meant to teach them a lesson.. I pity him.., but I pity the Chinese Nationals who lost their lives in a merciless hostage drama that happened yesterday.. I hope the government will find ways to prevent such scenario to take place again in the near future..=(

I highly doubt that anyone would get their job back, nevermind a former police officer.
Geeze, what the heck was he thinking when he did that?
I heard it on the radio this morning as breaking news and I was really shocked to hear it.
He killed others and was shot himself. There's no way now that he'd get his job back, I guess he should have thought about that before taking people hostage.
