I use the Neutrogena products as well and I love them. In terms of shiny, once a month, I section my hair and saturate each section with mayonnaise. I then wrap the sections in foil and let it sit on my hair for 30 minutes. I also mix an egg into my shampoo. If you use hair spray try, Queen for a Day Thickening Spray by Bed Head, a product that I can't live without.

I use Neutrogena Triple Moisture shampoo, conditioner, and leave in Conditioner and I LOVE IT.
Also, the Biggest thing I started doing was I started taking a vitamin called Biotin. it's all sorts of B vitamins and stuff that promote HAIR GROWTH. Also nail growth so it's a double win!
Also, to let your hair air dry, brushing lightly, and not messing with it too much also help it to grow thick and healthy.
Good luck on your hair endeavors!

I think Mane & Tale is effective to thicken the hair, I've never use it but other recommend it.
