Are you comfortable with men who wear makeup?

Does it bother you to see men walk about with makeup on or are you accepting of it? I remember my sisters ex boyfriend wore cover up on his cheeks to hide his acne scars. I felt bad for him that he had acne so bad in the past that he had scars so bad. That would be awful. He stopped waring the cover up because people were commenting on him wearing makeup. I thought it was kind of weird as well. I've seen guys wearing eye shadow and mascara thats even weirder. Now if a guy wants to dress up like a woman and thats why hes wearing it then thats ok but if your a guy and your trying to act like a man then why wear makeup.

I live with my boyfriend and he is an actor. He has had makeup on only during his shows and or taping. Oh gosh no I would not be comfortable if this were a daily thing.
I want no boyfriend of mine to look prettier, than me. Kidding. But seriously though this would make me so uncomfortable especially out in public it would have to be a no, no, no for me.

Some men just naturally are very pretty but they dont need to wear makeup on a daily basis to make them look pretty I dont think hehe. For actors it does make sense for them to wear makeup because of the lights being so bright it washes their coloring out. But if they wear it off set just because they like wearing it and want to look pretty then its odd haha.

It's completely unacceptable to me that men wear makeup. I feel disgusted in seeing them wearing makeup, even though they are forced to do it to hide acne scars or something. Fortunately, guys around me don't have such a habit. Most men, I believe, want to look manly and this is also a kind of natural charm that attracts women's attention.

If they can wear it and rock it, and make it look really good, I say that he can wear whatever he wants.
I had a friend back at my community college, who could wear make-up well, and who actually looked really good in a dress. My friends and I think that he is awesome, and at Anime Expo, he is our favorite person because people never know that he is a "he" underneath those cosplays he wears. It is so cool. He fools men every single time. There are so many men at the conventions who think that he is so hot, and then the look on their face when that find out that he is a guy is priceless. You can't buy comedy like that.

i agree... it is weird.. but i have seen men like that too... it's awkward to look at them haha.... but i suppose face powders and concealers are reasonable.. i just don't agree with those who use eye liners, eye shadows and mascara... LOL

It doesn't really bother me to see a man who wears makeup. it is more traditional to see a woman in makeup than a man. It can through you off sometimes. i often wonder why a man is wearing makeup. Is he trying to hide a flaw or make some kind of statement about homself?

haven't remember having a friend who put some make-up on. i have a guy friend before though (haven't seen him a couple of years now), he used to shave his eyebrow. just like what women do to properly shape it. it so weird but you don't notice it until he tells you or you look closer. it's neat and it's not that bad. it's just weird..

I dont see anything wrong with a guy shaping their eyebrows to make them look better. I have seen some guys with AWFUL eyebrows.. like unibrows. Ick! I always think to myself if I had eyebrows like that I would pluck them or wax them or something. Even men need to have a little grooming sometimes. I've seen guys with horribly hairy backs its so sick. I know a guy who plucks his eyebrows and I just think thats great that he cares about his apperance. Hes not extreme though. I think guys who wear makeup to make themselves look better are to extreme.

i personally don't like it. i mean i can understand covering up the acne scars. but just for an average guy wearing make up. its a turn off. most guys who do wear make up are not your average guy anyway. all except celebrities. if you know what i mean.
but this is just my opinion.

If it's not noticeable then I'm fine with it. I wouldn't mind a guy wearing a good coverup, it would just make it look like he has nice skin, as long as he's not caking it on.
I'm accepting of guys who wear makeup, but if you are a straight guy trying to act like a man as you said.. I don't know if I could picture myself dating a guy who wears eyeliner, mascara, etc. Maybe that's because it just wouldn't look good on my boyfriend. But I don't even wear much makeup.

I don't have any problem with men wearing makeup unless it's overdone and looks tacky. But I hate too much makeup on women, too. I don't wear it myself (yes, I'm a woman), but I don't understand why it's become one of those things that's supposed to be "women only." For me, it's a matter of good taste or bad taste. If you know how to use makeup to accentuate your features, and it's attractive, then go to it, guys.

No, I'm not comfortable with men wearing makeup, I think this would only be acceptable with artists and actors who really need makeup when they appear on the television, movies and magazines. But nowadays, men are getting conscious of their skin care too and I think this is quite acceptable if men are also using some skin care products like facial wash, astringents and whitening creams. This is fine with me but never with makeup. :)

For some reason this topic reminds me of a co-worker. I don't work with this person at all anymore, but he would constantly be reapplying his MAC foundation. I don't mind being friends with someone who wore makeup. I think it's their own things, and if it makes them happy, good. They are just expressing themselves just like we are. However, if it was a romantic or personal level, than no. I like if a guy cares about what he looks like, but makeup is going a little to far. You can check out your hair that's fine, but please no makeup that should only be for a woman.

hey you make me feel so much younger with this discussion as when i was a teenager in england we had punk rock, heavy rock and then the 'new romantics'. many men followed their pop heroes like david bowie, soft cell, adam ant, visage, kiss etc . dying hair like the punks was very popular as well as wearing make up for men.

No, no ,no! Make-up is for women. But if one wants to cover a blemish of some sort temporarily I don't see a problem with that. I've done it myself. But like I said, it's temporarily to hide a little problem. Women are beautiful as they are but a little make-up to enhance their natural beauty is fine. But even on women too much make-up is a bit gaudy.

Men wears make up too. Particularly rock stars and celebrities. But, dressing up as a woman, that's another story.

It may be a little weird, but I love a blue-eyed man dressed in black and wearing eyeliner...maybe it's because I grew up in the 80's and was into glam rock lol!
