They say great style never dies. But is there such thing as great style? Well clothing style depends on what time clothes become a fad and this style just channel from all generations. I used to buy expensive clothes too when I was single and have spare money for my wants. now I found them in my closet along with my old clothes. I also used to give clothes to people who are in need. I have realized that old styles come back and I save some old clothes. What I do now is that I put accessories on them or pin with ready made patches like butterflies and flowers. I pinned them to my plain shirts and they looked like new ones now. I am thankful that the colors didn’t fade. I mix and match them too. I have observed other ladies mix all bright colors like yellow shirts and red pants and they look stunning especially for those who are fair skinned. I also added cheap stones and buttons to clothes and they look like as inclusions. They look like the value is increased and make them more interesting to look at. I just pinned them with my own hands. I just wish I had my own sewing machine so I can sew more and would be neat. How about you? What do you do to your old clothes?

This is very good that you won't waste the old clothes. If you are good at sewing, it is good that you can design the old clothes again. I don't have this talent. So usually I give the old clothes to the poors. At least they won't be wasted.
I love China

Sell them or donate them.
You can sell them on eBay (list them all together in one listing as a lot and you will get more)
You can sell them to a resale store (Plato's Closet or a local small business)
. My wife and I run a resale store and buy peoples old clothes all the time.
Or donate them to a Goodwill or Salvation army. You can usually get a tax credit for this, just ask for a cash receipt when you make the donation and you can claim it when you do your taxes.

Aside from giving my old clothes to the less fortunate, I donate them in charities or I sell them for less especially things that can't be used in charity foundations. I set up my own garage sale and invite my friends over the internet or send them text messages.

I usually donate old clothes to thrift shops or charities. When I don't wear something for over a year I know it's time to ditch it. I refuse to hold onto clothes and have them stick around in my closet or drawers if they're just going to collect dust. So, I just donate them or I hand them down to a younger member in my family. I'd rather the clothes be worn than thrown away or just sitting there. With certain clothes I do hold onto for special events, such as old prom dresses or homecoming dresses, at least the ones that could be worn at other events. I think it's important to be careful with your clothes, whether it be that you're giving them away or throwing them out. You need to ask yourself if you'll wear it ever again or not. If you know you won't, there is no point in wasting space when you could get something you would wear.

I usually give out old clothes to those who need it. There are people in our area that are in need of them. So most of the time, I give them out when I no longer need them or when I outgrow them. This also goes for the clothes that my son uses. He is now seven years old. So most of the clothes that no longer fitting, I usually give them.

I separate my old clothes and put them in a box. My mom's the one in charge of giving it away to those in need of them. I never bother place or sew accessories on it. I'm too lazy to do that :-D Often, I give them to my younger sister - it now depends on her whether she likes the cloth or not, it's up to her to give it away.

I just wear them. Try to mix them up w/other things but i have bought few clothes since i had to retire. I don't need to buy new things when i have plenty of old things that need to be worn. Good for u for dressing your old things up, great idea.

Well, that's being practical. For most expensive clothes, you can just use your creativity and yes, you can turned it into new one. Besides, there are some fad that will come back some other time. So, when it's color didn't fade, you can use it again for sure. Putting beads and sequences are fun to make it like a new one. And yes, having that talent of being creativity needs you to have your own sewing machine. But for those old clothes which are not so expensive, well you can just donate it to orphans or for those less fortunate ones. Me, I gave my old clothes especially those who are not fit to me anymore, to my niece and nephews, or even to other people. Good luck and happy mylotting.

If I have a piece of clothing that has seen better days, i have to decide how special it still is to me. if it is a favorite, i will try to find some way to preserve it. If i can do without it, i will end up giving it away.Sometimes a piece of clothing is beyond saving and it goes to the rag pile.

Yesterday we had a garage sale to rid our house of some clutter but I try to recycle old clothes by turning them into pillowcases or I cut appliques and use them as accessories for my scrapbook. I've made purses with old Levi's before though I'm not a particularly gifted sewer.
