Thank you so much Gabs for asking for healing thoughts and prayers for my mom. We appreciate the thoughts, kindness, prayers, and healing thoughts that have gone out for my mom.
She is McElhenney here and many of you know she is my mom.
I chose "family" as my title because I feel that many of us here are family as well as friends.
I spoke to my mom today and she sad to let everyone know that the prayers and healing energy and thought, and candles that everyone have offered for her have helped. She said to tell everyone thank you so much. It was all that everyone did that helped her pull through this.
The doctor had wanted her to not go home as she would be alone. He said she had to go where someone would be there for her and to help her.
I think he may have even mentioned a nursing home.
After all of the prayers and healing energy from everyone she got so much better and quicker than they expected that as of today he said she might be able to go home tonight. To her own home, which is a blessing for her. She does not want to go anywhere but to her own home.
She aspirated Saturday night and it apparently went into her lungs and she could not breath at all. She was able to call 911 which is the emergency number here for them to send an ambulance for her.
They took her immediately to the hospital. Her blood pressure was very very high, if I heard her clearly it was almost 300 over 200 and something. She was not doing well at all. This I believe is another time we almost lost her.
They said she has an infection somewhere, I still do not know where but they gave her antibiotics through her IV and that seemed to help her some. She was able to talk that night and had my Aunt to call me and let me know what was going on.
For those of you that don't know the health insurance companies here make people go home as soon as they are stable and not in danger anymore. If they need further care it has to happen at home. They will only pay for a day or two stay in a hospital or a facility of care.
So she has a ways to go to be much better and she will get better while at home.
I wish to thank Gaby and everyone here from the bottom of my heart for all prayers and healing that went out for my mom and me. I worry about her so much all the time because she is alone and so sick. I wish I could be there for her all the time.
I will call her again tomorrow and check in with her.
Now to make this a discussion...has anyone else got anythign they wish to say about anything?
My mind is just not working right now to know to ask anything else right now.
I have not slept since night before last.
It is so wonderful to have such good friends as we do here at My Lot thank you Gaby for what you did for us!!! Hugs to you.
Thank you all again...and bless you all!!!

Thank you so much dear lady. She is so lucky to be home this quickly. She has never been home this quick before. She got well so quick that it was a miracle, it had to be. I know all of you had a lot to do with it too.
She will do well at home and so many prayers and candles are still going for her.
Thanks a gain.

I got a phone call from my youngest brother and he is going to try to leave this weekend to go stay with our mother. He said he has not called and told her yet. I don't think he wants to in case something happens not allowing him to make the trip. He lives on the coast in Mississippi and she lives about 7 hours from him in upper Alabama.
I'm glad he will do this. I have been worried with her being alone.

Yes, Hatley I'm so glad that she got to go home so early. She has never been in the hospital for less than 2 weeks before. SO I know for a fact that the prayers and all you all did helped her.
I feel so special to have such good friends here.
Thank you so much.

Yes, Gaby what you did was so special to me and was so much needed. I just was not able to do it.
I have yet to get any sleep. The day she went in the hospital I was awake all night and yesterday. Then last night I was hurting so bad and could not sleep. I'd doze off for a few minutes and that was it. I have yet to sleep and I hope I'll get to sleep shortly. After I finish with the posts I will lay down.
Thank you so much Gaby.

I wish we could take all the insurance company workers and senior staff and inject them a bad flu, put them in the hospital and have them treated by THEIR insurance companies the way they treat our loved ones. Bet your bottom dollar they would change policies pretty damn quick!
I hate the thought of our dear Martha being sent home when she is still sick, but I am so glad she is better and least will be able to get better in her own home. That will help her a lot.
Will keep the candles burning and the healing energy going her way until she is back on the lot and in the best of health.
Give her my love Moonbean, and YOU get some rest! Love you both...........

Thank you so much Sparks.
I's sorry to be late in responding but for some reason I am not getting notices about mylot discussions like I should. I usually have my email full of them but I'm just getting a few a day now.
I have not gotten but one response to my discussion and never got Gay's that she posted at all.
I agree about the insurance companies and their health, they need to have the same insurance as we have and be treated the way we are.
It is good that they send us home soon sometimes though. Mom is like me or me like her we do not like being in the hospital and really want to go home as soon as we can.
It's just that sometimes they really need to keep us longer and they don't or won't.

I talked to her last night. She said she is not doing well and feels just so-so. She hopes she will be much better when the infection is gone from her lungs. She is taking pills for that.
She said when she feels a bit better then she will write to you and a few others.
Thank you again and you take care too.

Hi moon. I am so thankful to hear that you mother is doing so well. I know what it's like to worry about someone we love and feel so helpless to do anything. I am sure that the prayers and positive energy sent your mother's way has helped her to recover so quickly. I hope her health continues to improve, for her sake and yours!
I know all about the benefits of prayers and positive energy that our myLot family can send. I am scheduled to have spinal surgery this Friday and was pretty scared, until all the positive thoughts and prayers were sent my way. It helped to calm me down considerably and I know that the surgery will go just fine and I will be out of the hospital on Saturday, as anticipated.
I do remember back before hospitals and insurance companies weren't such profit seeking enterprises. When I was 16, I had my heels operated on and was in the hospital for 16 days. I doubt they'd let me stay more than overnight now.
It's very sad which is why I am especially happy to hear that you mother is doing so well! All my love and positive energy to you and your mother.

Thank you dear I do appreciate all of your kind words. You are so right about all you said.
I too am so glad that mom is doing better. She will do better even at home more than being in the hospital. She hates being there and will rest more at home.
She told me yesterday that she had not slept at all since sometime on Saturday.
Oh, I forgot to say she is home now. I talked to my brother this morning and he said she is home now. I will call her later. I want to let her rest before I call.

Glad that your mum feels better. In the UK we have the NHS, which saves the rigmarole with insurance, and it's pitfalls. I think that most people prefer home to hospital. My partner's mum is always afraid of hospital since she expects to be kept in.
I sometimes think being aware that other people have you in their thoughts is a great influence in feeling that you are not alone, and that's a motivation.

My mom had no idea that others were praying for her other than my Aunts friends at church. But she was really sick. Not doing well at all. She made a quick recovery and she has never gotten well this quickly before she has always spent at least 2 weeks in the hospital. So I know all of the prayers and healing and candles helped her tremendously!
