This happened a long time ago & don't know why it crossed my mind this morning but i still get tickled when i think about it. I had not been married too long & i went to my in-laws to visit. When i pulled up in the yard & got out it sounded like world war 3 was going on. I didn't know whether to go in or not, lol. My father-in-law & my brother-in-law were really into it. My fil cursed every breath & my bil was keeping up w/him pretty good, lol. What had happened bil had put some dog food in a pan & warmed it up for his dog to eat. My fil had come in & thought it was lunch & had eaten it.omgosh!! my bil was mad because he ate his dog's food & poppa was mad at him for warming it up & he thought it was people food.IT WAS HILARIOUS but i didn't dare laugh but i sure did want to. Have u ever eaten dog food by mistake, lol???

Ha Ha!!!
What a nice guy to warm up the dog's food.....THAT I have never heard of.
I don't ever remember eating dog food by mistake, but I'm pretty sure I've tasted it just to see what all the tail wagging was about.......I still don't know.

That is funny but I bet your father in law didn't think it was too funny when it happened. I have never eaten dog food and I think I would have known it was dog food just by looking at it. lol When my son was a baby and was learning to crawl he crawled over to the dog bowl and dumped out the water and tried to eat the dog food but I stopped him before he got it to his mouth. :-)

I do not ever recall ever tasting or eating dog food as just the smell of it will make me say yuck.

I personally haven't tried dog food on purpose or mistake but my grandfather when my grandmother went to the hospital to have my uncle (their first child) ate dog food. Not that he couldn't cook (what he said) but because he was to lazy to cook. My brother and actually my son love the dog bisquits. They say the dog bisquits are taste. LOL.

Oh man... It must have been a hillarious site to have thought someone would actually eat dog food and not notice. I mean I guess you would have to be really hungry to not notice. And yes, he should have maybe been warned but he could have asked questions as well.
No, I do not know anyone who has ever aten dog food except for maybe a young child. But I am sure it happens.

No, I have never eaten pet food by mistake, but some of it smells pretty good. I will probably go back to making food for the pets some this winter as I feel it is healthier. I think Kal Kan cat food always smelled really good. I think I would have laid low for a bit before going in that house.

I loved your story, Jo. But it was wise not to laugh at the time..
I have never eaten dog food. I guess I never will. Lola prefers my own food so I guess it´s people´s food for me (and sometimes for Lola too).
HUG!!!

Lola is always willing to eat the leftovers from my leftovers.Today I have friends for diner (the ones I went to Arica with). I wanted to reciprocicate because they invited me to restaurants and took me to places I could not have gone with my means. So we´ll see photos and I´ll make a nice diner.
Lola will have a feast too. I want to have my kitchen clean so I´m giving her all the leftovers I normally eat myself.
It was interesting that answer about people who make dog food and they had human beings try it.. At least we do it the other way around.
Hug!

Hi antiquelady, I haven't eat the dog food really, but again if I really recall my memory its almost like eating the dog food in somewhat different manner.Actually when my father was serving in the Indian Army, like every body we too used to have a ration on weekly basis a portion of Mutton supplied to us from which we used to keep a portion for our doggie in a boiled form only, and the other half of it were cooked and consumed by us,hence its like eating the same stuff both by our doggie and us, but in a different form.
After all we all are animals so why be ashamed of the same-food habit,If the Aliens are looking from the above they won't mind it at all, and neither will take pitty on us, after all we all have to share the same planet, same food, and so on.........

Good morning, thanks for your interesting response. Don't any of us know what we are eating when we go out to a restaurant etc. I imagine there are things we buy at the grocery that might have things in them we are better off not knowing.

You are very correct and that is why if at all we had to take some food then generally we do not like to have mutton on our menu,at the local road side line daba etc,and rather go for simple dal-wheat chapati,or dal-rice and curd or salad only, practically we don't trust these dabas/local road hotels.
Fruits or Bread and sweets are better then paying for the delicious left over foods from the previous day that too where there is no grantee what type of mutton is been served.
Take care before eating at the local road line dabas or hotels.

Thank you lady.Sichuan dish is the most famous among five Chinese cooking styles and characterized by chafing dish. While eating chafing dishes, there is a pot of specially made and hot-spicy soup in it,and u just put those meat or vegetable u like to eat into the soup for a few minutes till they get cooked. And dip the dishes in your bowl of specially made sause and put the food up to your mouth.U could try a weaker spicy soup if the hot one doesn't agree to u.By the way I'm looking for some native English speaker to help me improve my English.do u use chat media like MSN or something? Can u add me into your friend list?Tnank you!

I could not help but laugh out loud! HA!HA!HA!HA! It was really hilarious and sounds like a scene in a comedy film. How old was your FIL then? I wonder how that dog food tasted? How come your FIL did not even noticed it was a dog food! So funny! How could you laugh in front of these two mad people? They hardly knew they created a hilarious scene! Ha!ha!ha!

I don't know if I would have been able to control my laughter! That is sooooo funny! I have never eaten dog food by mistake. I did use to work at a fast food restaurant and we had dog biscuits to give to customers that came through the drive-thru with their dogs in the car. We thought it would be really funny to dare some of the other workers to eat the dog biscuits. They actually did it! I couldn't believe it! I am still friends with some of those guys and I still tease them about it.

Of course, I have not tasted dog food before, not even by mistake!Dog food is hygienic.
There is nothing wrong for human to eat canned dog food. I have watched a Chinese Movie which depicted a man from a remote village in China came to Hong Kong. He ate some packets of biscuits. The dog brand biscuits is best according to him. It is actually god biscuit. lol.

Goodness! I feel sorry for you father-in-law for what had happened. If it tasted good, then it is okay. But what if it is not? Yew! Can't bear to think of it. Actually, when we had a dog before, we didn't feed him dog food. Just whatever leftover food we had, that would be the dog's meal. I surely don't want to have any processed dog food, no matter how I loved my dog.

haha that reminds me to another anegdote i had. when i was younger all the cousings use to stay in my older cousins house... for some reason the cookies of the dog were dissapearing. what we realized is that one day one of the cousins came with the package asking where to buy those cookies because everytime he use to go to the snack section in the supermarket he was unable to find them. when he realized that those were the cookies of the dog he felt so ashamed that he never ate cookies again. that was almost 15 years ago and he still dont eat anything that look like a cookie or have the form of an animal.

Bless his heart, he must have really been embarassed. That's a long time to go w/out eating a cookie. I think it's time he had a real cookie. Thanks for your response.
