Have you ever waited for something that did not come?

I've waited for the love of my life...I didn't hunt...I just accepted the fact he wasn't coming back and I moved on. But then we made an agreement when we were in our 20s we'd be together in our 80s. And I'm only in my 60s, so maybe????

I remember waiting for someone I loved to return because I could not believe that he had left me! It was such a painful experience that living in denial for a while was easier than accepting the fact that this person was not coming back to me. This was many years ago and thanks to this person not returning to me my life took a turn for the better and I am now in a very content state so, sometimes it’s worth accepting the end of things. The ice cream truck may or may not come back and you may as well stop waiting for it and treat yourself to a visit to the ice cream parlour!

I believe that we all wait for something that never happens. I am not sure that we truly search for it all the time. I think we all wait for us to be richer, happier, etc and yet, it may never happen. However, do we truly look for it to happen or hunt it down. I don't think so. did you find the ice cream truck?

Well I guess I am waiting to win the lottery...LOL I guess that will never happen as I never play...LOL You and your poor ice cream truck, LOL, maybe go to a park. He may be there hoping to sell to the young ball players, or kids playing in the park. Good luck trying to track him down. I see the ice cream truck down in my neighborhood all the time...maybe come down to Chattanooga. LOL. Have a great weekend!

There are sure to be times when we have all waited for something that didn't come. I know i have. It can be disappointing to wait only to feel rejected when that moment comes and passes us by. The wait does not even have to be for something spectacular. it can be something small and trivial. For me, it can be that package in the mail that is promised to arrive by a certain date. Waiting puts you through so many emotions. Searching for the why is almost as difficult as the wait when something doesn't come that we expect.

more than the ice cream truck, i've waited for more important people and things, and got stood up... disappointment surely follows, but it's not something to gripe about... you know, there are reasons and there are alibis...

THe only thing that I can think of that I was expecting to come and didn't was men!! I've had 2 fairly recent times when I was expecting a guy to show up and they didn't. I DID NOT let it go. They heard from me more than once and both were on my "forget they exist" list for a while. But I did end up forgiving both of them and have talked to them, but haven't given either the chance to make me wait. Not yet anyway!! As far as the ice cream truck.........check the phone book and see if they can have one reroute to your area KNOWING they will have a willing customer. YOU just made me think of a question to post, myself.....be looking for it!! lol Good luck with the ice cream truck........haven't seen ANY in my neighborhood all summer but there is road construction nearby.

I was stood up for dates a lot. So I always had an alternative plan. But an ice cream truck, I think I'd ask around and figure out his route for the future. Men may come and men may go, but ice cream, that's forever!

I have waiting for something that never came. I think you recall my situation with the motorcycle tourguide that lives there in your town. I have waited for so long to get something positive from him and never have. Yes, I have pretty much given up on him but there is still that flicker of hope that drives me on. You and that icecream truck.

how cute. you sound like the little girl you look like, sweetie. yes there are times when i quit buying lotto tickets for a while cause im tired of waiting to win im also like others on your responses that are tired of waiting for a new love to come into my life. i really think its never going to happen again. guess im to old.

I have been known to get into the car and hunt the Ice Cream Truck, but not for many years. Now if I am waiting for something and is just doesn't come, I figure it was not meant to be and go on without it.

I'm waiting for Publishers Clearing house to come, it got close. Someone from Vegas won but it wasn't me

I've waited for a lot of stuff to happen,and they didn't,but the very last one is I'm waiting for 2012,for all of us to blow up.Oh wait,I just remembered-that's not going to happen! :D

I waited for porygon3 but porygon3 never did show up. It was the greatest disappointment in my life. I guess I will have to do something about it otherwise it won't get done.

hI jen, I have waited on many things in my life that never happened. If i could make it happen i did but as i'm sure u know u can't do alot about things especially things that have to w/heartache. I hope u find that truck, lol. hugs. jo

Hey Jen! You're still waiting for that ice cream truck? lol You know that you can get just go to the grocery store and buy ice cream pops or cones and save your money, that's what I do. Or I can buy something for you because that annoying ice cream truck is here twice a day with that music blaring and kids screaming and those prices are insane! I don't know how the parents can afford it, especially if they have more than one child. They could get a full dinner instead! I'm still holding out for the "Carvel Ice Cream Trucks" to come back! Now that I would pay for!

One thing I am waiting for is a rebate I sent out a few months ago. I know it takes time but I have been looking forward to getting my 8$ check. I actually love doing rebates and always find most people never do them. Have you ever done any rebates before? If so did you get the money back like you were suppose too? Anyway nice post and I am back for today I hope to come in contact with you again on here:)

will for me I am waiting for my happy life,..i know in this world no one live as a easy life all of us live in a hard life but in my case i have unhappy life i am separated with my only one daughter every time i want to tell her a story but i cant coz she is very far from me....
