To tell or not to tell

I am just wondering something for all you people out there in a serious relationship. If you had a secret, such as you cheating on your significant other, would you one day let them know? Let's say that you cheated on your boyfriend/girlfriend, whether it be physical or emotional. You cheated a couple of years ago and pretty much got away with your significant other not knowing anything about it. Would you fess up now to what you did hoping that they would be understanding that you are coming clean and trying not to have secrets or do you keep it as a secret since you were able to get away with it at this point. Please let me know your opinion on this situation. I would love to hear what type of responses I get.

Well I was with my boyfriend for a year and near the end of that relationship I cheated on him with my sons dad my boyfriend at the time him and I were drifting apart....I actually did tell him a few months or more later that I did infact cheat on him before the break up I felt the need to be honest with him as I loved him but wasn't in love with him...

I think you did the right thing but what would you have done if your relationship wasn't on the verge of break up? Would you still confess then or would you take it to the grave? What if your relationship was going well but you made a mistake by cheating on him? Would you risk your relationship to be honest?

I think I would of come clean eventually that is a hard secret to keep....
