Yes...here in India its going on...don't know who starts some wonderful, some stupid and some naughty some thoughtful ones...and then the youngsters start them spreading to one another...some accidentally come to me too 
...though i am not a youngster(though not very old)...but i like some of them....one for good friends was-

Ya, It's been a craze in India. I get a lot of them daily. My Inbox is flooded with them. I get a vareity of SMSs ranging from some good quotes to some dirty jokes. One of the SMSs I got "Whenever you find the key to success, some idiots change the lock.. So, forget the key and learn to break the doors!" :)

Like India, America suffers explosive craze quakes. Perhaps one of the weirdest is the teenage pacifier craze, where teens went around with infant pacifiers in their mouths.
