Heads high, not in your hand: job hunting

It's 3am and I'm awake, again. I need a job. I keep telling myself that this is the kind of desperation I need. It's the type of desperation that wraps its icy fingers around my heart in the middle of the night and squeezes me awake-- the kind of desperation that fuels me. It's the brand of anxiety that makes me creative.
But really, it's just something I make up while knowing that the results are the same. In reality, I don't actually require fear to accomplish a goal. Still, I hold onto it like a ticking bomb, scared, but ready for it to just be over. And I, sometimes, wish I could go back.
I'm a recently unemployed, recent college graduate in 2010 living without a safety net. I am my own safety net and I witnessed that thing rip and shred 2 months ago. There are many other recent graduates like me. I know that I'm not alone in this economy. I believe that something is coming. I believe that there will be a change and that belief, alone, is enough to manifest my own destiny.

You have just finished your graduation and why you are in a hurry to worry like this? Things will soon turn in favor and you should not lose this hope. Wait for the right opportunity and in the mean time develop your skills, whatever it may be. Don't remain stagnant. Keep on moving and you will have peaceful sleep, as you can be sure of best tomorrow.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone! It was really nice to wake up to kind words. I've been studying and teaching myself new skills in addition to the one I learned in college. The public library also has wonderful classes... for free! One thing that has really helped involves positive affirmation and photographs/collages. I only worry at night when I can't actively look for employment, but I think that this stage has allowed me to grow and expand my future options. I hope that everyone else in this situation is productively moving forward, as well. Thanks, again!

I have those moments too. Mine is the kind where you just feel the weight of a noose around your neck waiting to tighten and take everything with it. Diamonds are made from intense pressure and heat and i am guessing from all these problems a few diamonds will start emerging soon. All that fear, stress and in some cases anger can be a wonderful fuel to rocket you to better things when properly applied.
Use it as best you can for a positive change and when you get there enjoy it. :) good luck

I must admire your determination and courage.
That kind of fear is common among us human being, especially if you have more and more responsibilities.
But fear not. As long as you move, try, and do, everything will be getting along fine. It's not easy of course, but just stick to it!
Don't let fear consume you too much, but put it as your warning sign.
Anyway, good luck for you!

College graduates this year or next school year will still have a problem finding jobs that is suitable to their courses.... What more to college graduates last year or 5 years ago?
Due to our economy crisis we have, college graduates will still find difficult to get a job...
I'm not giving you any negative thoughts but if you have strategies and the brain, you'll get lucky...

That's the spirit! Like they say, courage is perserving even in the midst of fear. I say keep on believing! Since you believe for something better, then you've won half the battle. There's hope. One day, fate will unveil it's surprise for you. All you need to do is hold on and keep watch. good luck!
