-Try to survive and not be killed at first buy regen items and try not to get killed
-always look at the minimap to look at missing enemies because they might gank you
-never ever leave your team mates during a clash if you have a medium life and mana leave only if you have like below 20% life

well i am not a good player of DOTA but for me, first thing to buy is boots. Because in time of emergency boots is effective when you will follow or escape an enemy. also try to monitor for power ups, you can also use bottle for your regeneration.
also you must know how to last hit for you to gain money.
but the best thing is try not to get killed.

yes boots is good :D but regen items are still better for surviving and if you are in an emergency situation try to use everything around you as an escape route :D if you are being chased by a hero and he is behind his creeps target him but dont attack just run for your life his creeps and yours might block him :D i once did this in garena

Well i have found a strategy that make me win all the time. That's for my favorite hero, magina.

My techniques in playing dota, is building my defence, vanguard. Then I build power threads afterward, Then after building this two main item, I started building the luxurious item such as; when playing agi type hero i build butterfly, if strength i build battle fury and for Int, i build guinso.

For me, the best tips that I can share is to always check the mini map. Also, you need to inform your team mates about any update. Use hot keys as well for faster use. Lastly, know your hero and know what is the best and suitable item for this hero.

just be a smarter player and work on all aspects of the game. improving your hero micro and also improving general things like map awareness and item builds will help your game.

Here's another tips
-Respect players and have fun
-Always call for miss/ missing heroes
-if a teammate is having a bad lane, help him.
-if you have a noob team mate don't rage on him instead teach him how to play and teach nicely.
-wards! wards! wards! 200 gold for a observer/sentry ward is very cheap to prevent you from dying from gank then lose gold and wait respawn time AND! to buy tp scrolls to go back in lane.

I think Farming is also important...All hero need to farm....In the middle n late game...u can't get your hero's maximum power if u only have some basic items..etc..
Next is Denying Creep....This is another way to prevent that your enemies become powerful...If u go in a double lane, and u are a supporter hero...let's deny as more as possible and make your alliance free for farm:D
